  1. Did they give you a deadline to respond to your visit request too?
  2. still waiting on USC. anyone else in this boat?
  3. I'm hoping to study in fluid mechanics. What about you? Oh and good luck with your apps for UTAustin!
  4. Congrats G_C! Were you contacted by them before? I'm still waiting to hear back from them for mechE PhD :/
  5. It's okay buddy. I'm doing the same thing and staying optimistic. Don't lose hope!
  6. It makes sense what you said. I have a feeling that they might need my official transcript before they can review it. Like, the graduate office would not release the application to the department to review unless it were complete. If they can reject an incomplete application, I feel its on the basis of it being incomplete, not lacking academic merit. Just a guess though, any thoughts?
  7. I wouldn't think calling the dept or e-mailing him again after some time is out of line. He did say to keep in touch! Don't lose hope So I just got an e-mail from the graduate school of admissions and they told me they've reviewed my application but they couldn't proceed as there were missing my official transcript. I've already gotten an e-mail from the department before requesting the transcript and I sent, by their request, the unofficial transcripts for them to review. I believe I may be over-thinking this but since the second notice was coming from the graduate school, not the department, would it be safe to assume that a decision has been made and they're are just waiting for the transcript to notify me of their decision?
  8. I got an email today saying they reviewed my application for admission but were unable to proceed because they did not have my transcript. It then instructs me to send my transcript to their office. Would they ask for my transcript and then subsequently reject me? I hope its not a formality for them to have a complete app before they can issue a rejection. I would just hate to send in my transcript and then right after get denied.
  9. Hey Grads to Be, I am a MechE applying for a Ph.D. in fluids research. Anyone out there interested in swapping SOP? I will provide feedback! Just shoot me a msg with your statement and I'll reply with mine. Thanks!
  10. He has filled out all the other invitations. I'm really confused as to why he didn't fill out my current university's invitation.
  11. So, in applying for graduate school, I asked a professor, whom I have been doing research with for a long time, to write me a letter of recommendation. He gladly agreed and promptly filled out all of the invitations except for the one at my current university. In reminding him through e-mail, I got no response from him and left it at that because it seems as though he knows what he's doing. However, to this day, he still hasn't submitted it and I am scared it will hurt my chances. I don't want to keep badgering him but at the same time, I want to know what is going on. what should I do?
  12. So I got my decision and it was a rejection. It was a weird one because I had just sent them an emailing asking for an update. Seems that I may have pushed them into rejecting me as my email want the nicest and best worded email. Anyways, good luck to the rest who are waiting to hear back.
  13. Just got off the phone with the department and they said they are reviewing the m.s. applicants right now. Gave me an eta of this week..
  14. Im still waiting for decisions for a m.s. at UCs in mechanical engineering. Is that a bad sign that I haven't heard back??
  15. Well, their FAQ says results for m.s. ate expected to be out April through June so they are still consisting us. It's a good thing we haven't heard back because there have been a lot more rejections than admits so looks like their slowly weeding out people while sending acceptances for higher qualified candidates.
