Except for the wrong "its." But we all make typos. -

Mine says "not reviewed." Though I must add that I am a little worried about this app—I sent my GRE scores about 3 weeks after the deadline, once I realized that I initially sent them to Buffalo College. So, I may not be the best person to compare against. -

My LORs are also listed individually, but as a whole are "not received." -

So, for example, it seems that Buffalo sent out most of their acceptances around the same day last year. If we didn't hear from Buffalo on Friday, does that mean there's a pretty solid chance we just didn't get in? -
What are you reading?
Deadinthewater replied to bluecheese's topic in Literature, and Rhetoric and Composition
Right now I am reading those short stories by Sherman Alexie, I read the first three pages of the Sot Weed Factor (does that mean I am reading it?), and I am through the first section of The Political Unconscious. Nice. -
I have read Mrs. Dalloway, but for some reason everyone at my institution would mention every one of Virginia Woolf's texts as if I (and everyone) had already been through all of them. I always feel a little ashamed when people talk about Woolf. I am more ashamed of the books that I have read but seriously do not remember a thing about (The Great Gatsby, twice. Crime and Punishment, twice. Most Russian novels, now that I think about it. Everything I read in high school: The Scarlet Letter, The Iliad, Huckleyberry Finn, etc. Wow. This is depressing. Where has my life gone, unremembered?). Or the mind-boggling number of books that I have read through the halfway point, but never finished.

It's a shame we're not applying to any of the same places -

I have a physical recommendation letter from a professor that was meant for a school that I ended up not applying to. So now I just have it, sitting here in my room. I stare at this envelope almost constantly, dreaming about what is inside. Does it say I am the smartest human being ever? Quite possibly. I have made a little shrine for the letter, right next to my bookshelf. I visit this shrine at least twice a day: when I wake up and before I go to sleep. It strengthens me. If I get into my dream school, I will immediately tear this letter open and read it. If I get rejected everywhere, I will burn it.... -
From LSU's website: "At this time, we are unable to provide funding for students admitted to the MA program only. However, highly qualified students applying for the MA program may receive an offer for a place in the PhD program with funding. (Our PhD program permits students to enter with just a BA.) Students recruited into the PhD program with just a BA are free to leave with the MA, if they choose." Edit: It seems that other areas of their website indicate they do in fact fund MA's. I guess I don't know anything anymore.

Thanks for the input, everybody. -
I know this sounds superficial, but I think it might be relevant: Do you think I should change my less-than-professional Facebook profile picture? If (by the grace of god) I become a candidate for a program, are they going to be looking at my Facebook? Does the Columbia adcom have tiny cameras installed in my room at this very moment?
