I asked MICA about their interviews. this is what they replied me: An admissions interview is not a pre-requisite for admission to MICA's graduate programs in general. So not receiving an admissions interview is not an official rejection. The reviews are ongoing throughout the month of February, and interviews are conducting on a rolling basis. Final decisions are made in the beginning of March, and will be mailed shortly thereafter. do they mean what I think they mean by "ongoing"???

the worst thing I can have now is false hope...

-wrote this out of anxiety, half from life experience, and half from what i observe, correct me if i am wrong. just want to keep your mind off the waiting game for a little bit, don't take anything seriously or personal please applying to grad schools vs. getting pregnant, something in common -it is not for everyone, people can live without it, and life is just fine -there is no one correct answer to “when,” it always depends on “when” you are ready -for a lot of people, it is not the first time -average age is around 27-29, again, some people make it happen in their early 20's, some people wait until their 40's. teen grad students do happen once in a while, ex: Dr. Sheldon Cooper -the process usually lasts about 9 months. for grad school applications, usually Sep - May, and pregnancy is more flexible -you start by doing research online, asking around for suggestions -during the 9 months, you always start with excitement, and later on, you are just like “why am I doing this to myself!!!!”. Frequent morning sickness. -later, you will experience freaking-out, nervous breakdown, afraid if something went wrong, “maybe I should wait another year or so,” constantly need to be part of a community with others who are on the same boat, and, compare notes with them -you will get sick of people asking you the same damn question over and over again. "what is your top choice?" "it is a boy or a girl?" -costs a lot $$$ here and there, you don’t even notice, by the time you do, you don’t even care -you don’t get to choose, you just put out your best, and pray that the best would come to you -you don’t know the final result, but whatever you end up with, 99% of you will love it -you think, “When all of this is over, I will be so happy.” -NO, you are WRONG. the next 2- 3 years means rarely eating on time, you become secondary for something else, and get SUPER excited for something as little as “I slept for 8 hours last night!”

any news about MICA interviews?? this is what I found on their website: "Admission finalists are selected by the Graduate Review Committee between February and late March 2013. Unless otherwise specified, most finalists are asked to participate in an admission interview with program faculty. Interviews are hosted between February 4 and March 8, 2013 and can be conducted either in person or via Skype." people who have interviews set up? people who already interviewed??
-
thank you~ good luck to you as well!
-
okay, first rejection from SAIC painting this afternoon, via mail
-
I would assume they would always ask general questions like why grad school, why now, why risd. just do some research online, and if you were a professor interviewing future grad students, what would you ask them? GOOD LUCK!!!

one of my official transcripts was never received, and I found out about 2 weeks after the official deadline. fedex-ed another copy over night... i hope that they will still take yours, even it is late!
-
no, not yet, still waiting.... I asked, and they told me that my file is currently under review, and they will be mailing out decision letters around the end of March. but I would guess they should send out interview invites soon-ish, and interview ppl late February/the beginning of March, and send out the final final results to all applicants later?? someone correct me if I am wrong.

Congratz!

I asked them yesterday about painting, and got a very general response(not specific towards painting) "Admission decisions will be sent in mid-March. Thank you for your patience, as there is a lot of material to review and we need to be thorough." it sounds like they are still reviewing, but i also heard from this forum that they ARE interviewing finalists.... so who knows...
-
i feel your pain!
-
if I understand correctly from what I read on the FAFSA official website, us citizens, green card holders, refugees, ect... i mean, it is a federal student aid after all...
-

this waiting is killing me.... checking email and this form 5,000 times a day.... start to REALLY think about my plan B...
-

-
I got one too, that is just.....i dont know what to say.... maybe adding larger letters on the package "THIS IS JUST CATALOGS" would help....
-

anyone else got the email from SAIC about this scholarship opportunity on Feb 6th?? "Incoming MA, MFA, MD and MS applicants who meet the Margot and Thomas Pritzker Scholarship eligibility requirements are invited to apply by Friday, March 1, 2013." they make us apply before the final admission decisions?? thanks,
-
THANK YOU! yes, it is for Temple, and I just contacted them, still reviewing....
-
any insiders on this????? why I saw some people already got interview invites for some programs, but my online application status is still "complete-ready for review"? don't they go through all applications at once and select finalists for interview? depends from program to program? or at this point, "complete-ready for review" is just a nice way of saying "you didn't make the finalists, and we will send you a rejection later"???
-
Tyler MFA painting applicants, I just contacted the admissions, and they are still reviewing applications, they told me that I should hear back from them in 2-4 weeks....
-
no, nothing from MICA yet...
