  1. i've been accepted to a dual credential/masters program. according to my interviewer, there will be little time for work, so getting a job to support my education isn't really an option. i'm relatively ignorant with grad school related things. i'm not sure how to go about searching for scholarships and other funding opportunities. i'd appreciate any advice/tips! thank you!
  2. just got my first grad school rejection letter, from my dream school to boot, and i'm feeling fairly incompetent and worthless. how do you cope with rejection?
  3. i've really become neurotic about waiting to hear back. has anyone heard anything??!!
  4. mightymouse, i have to perfectly honest - i went to white house black market to look at dresses. the magic dress was that swirl sheath one as well! the sales woman actually picked it out. i didn't think in a million years that this one would fit right on me! thank goodness we aren't applying to the same programs . the dress is perfection! i'm planning on wearing it with a dressy cardigan, tights, and low heels. should that be fancy enough for business casual? or should i buy a blazer? i also have jewelry to dress it up.
  5. is a skirt above the knee a definite no? mine falls about where that skirt does in the image you linked. i wanted a pencil skirt, but they look terrible on me! my dress code is business casual. what does that entail for a grad school? also, gorgeous dress, mightymouse!
  6. thanks for your advice! i'll definitely read up on professors. checking out syllabi is an excellent idea. i smile when i'm nervous, so i've got that one covered .
  7. does anyone have any advice for interviews for masters programs? i'm assuming most of the advice for phd interviews is applicable for masters, but we don't have POI's or really specific research interests to prepare for. well, at least my education programs don't. is there anything different masters applicants should know? any advice would be very much appreciated! thanks!
  8. i called once last week and once today just to find out if interview invites have been sent out yet. was this a bad idea? the admissions office asked for my name, so i'm a little freaked out now that it will affect their decision!
  9. i keep checking the results page neurotically to see if anyone has heard back! haha. it's probably correct that we won't hear back until end of january/early february, but i'm still on the edge of my seat. i applied to a masters program. i don't know if that means i'll hear back earlier/later. either way, my fingers are crossed - for all of us! berkeley is my #1 as well!
  10. anyone heard back from any of the school of ed programs?!?
  11. it's for education! it's killing me too! i didn't know about the results search section. that's fantastic. i've been neurotically checking my e-mail and application status. which education program did you apply to?
  12. has anyone heard back from berkeley yet?! the wait is killing me!
  13. so i am an idiot, and despite checking the guidelines over and over again, i forgot to single space my essays. i kept them double spaced for easier reading. is this a total rejection?! i'm worried they'll think i never bothered to read guidelines or anything. i put so much effort into my essays and i'm worried this is going to cost me my acceptance.
  14. if anyone is still interested in swapping, i could use some help! and would be happy to help!
