  1. Thanks philmajor. Nothing today, but maybe I'll get an email Monday. :-/
  2. I enjoyed being able to look at everything that had come in for the past day or so on one page, but this is much easier to use. The search function works! :-)
  3. I applied to the Asian Languages and Cultures Program at Michigan (Buddhism) instead of the Religious Studies department. I saw that someone received an acceptance email today. I didn't get anything. :|
  4. Well, I hope they don't. Because someone just posted that they received an acceptance email from one of my programs, and I didn't get anything.
  5. Yes, I'm sure we're not the only two on the board waiting to hear from Religion departments, so maybe everyone else will come out if we have our own board. :-D It always seems to take Religion departments the longest. My co-workers say it's because they're waiting for a sign from God. Clever, I know.
  6. To the person who asked on the results page whether anyone had heard from Religion PhD programs - nada. I haven't heard a thing!
  7. Of course! I check every day.
  8. How could you get an answer with a fake name? Haha. I understand the insanity - knowing how it works doesn't make it any less nerve wracking!
  9. So many people have heard from UCSB and Michigan this week that I keep telling myself I will hear something soon! Of course, no one from my department has posted anything...
  10. OK, so many people have heard from UCSB and UM this week that I keep telling myself I must hear from them soon!
  11. Canadianpolsci, you are right that no one will be accepted or rejected because of phone calls, but there were always those few who started calling early and often. No one minds if it's mid-March and you inquire, everyone will remember your name if you start calling two days after you submit your app and expect a response. Believe me, it happens. But yes, if other people have clearly heard from your program and you haven't - call. If you don't think anyone has heard from the program and it's early, it probably won't do any good.
  12. Haha. That would be great. How big is the cash gift? ;-)
  13. That's what I try to tell myself.
  14. It is way too early! I used to work in an admissions office and we were generally exasperated by the people who called starting early February every couple of weeks. Only call as it gets closer to April if you haven't heard anything - you may be waitlisted or there may actually be a decision for them to share.
  15. Well, there were only half a dozen schools that had a program I'm interested in - so not much choice there! And it's official, I've already lost it waiting to hear something. It is only the first week in February - not a good sign!
  16. Haven't heard anything yet...
  17. Last night I had to look up the weather for every city a school I applied to is located! Now they are all on the recent locations in my weather widget and cycle back and forth. Sad, I know. :-D
  18. Definitely! Good luck. Maybe we'll both hear something soon... Yikes!
  19. It is nice to see someone on here waiting to hear from Religious Studies departments. It's a definite minority field...
  20. Hi all, I was under the impression that it was only science programs who conducted interviews as part of their graduate application process. I've seen several posters on the results page who are receiving interviews for humanities or social science programs. Is this common? Of course, I'm wondering if the programs I've applied to do interviews! Thanks!
