  1. All this waiting just makes me over think and have second thoughts. I should have applied for this one and not this other one. I mostly regret not to have applied for mines. Even though I don“t have a great GPA, they have a reservoir characterization program that would be a very good fit for me. That's what happen for applying in such a hurry.
  2. I am totally nervous about it. Although I have a job in one of the biggest oil companies in the world, I don't really agree on how it is been managed right now. Besides, my wife and I just don't feel comfortable and happy about the situation of our country either. Thus, if I don't get into any of the Schools I applied I will definitely have to rethink some things out because I don't want to spend another whole year in the same situation. Probably I will try to apply for a Canadian or European school for the spring semester. Just thinking about chasing Professors in order to see if they submit the LOR makes me
  3. Well, I decided to apply for a MS last October due to a couple of reasons regarding my country's future and my not very appreciated job. So I just had 1 month for studying and I obtained V156 Q158. I am not applying to top programs so I hope at least one of them accept me. My GPA is low too but I hope that my research experience really help me out. So if you plan a three months study schedule should be enough for getting above 160 in Q.
  4. Hi guys. I'm freaking out here... It's a good thing I work full time on week days otherwise I would be crazy by now... I just hope to be accepted by one of the 6 universities I applied to... Bye!
  5. Congratulations to all of you whom have been admitted!!! I haven't heard anything yet. Minnesota deadline was January 8, Wyoming and Nebraska 15 and Oklahoma and Houston February 1. Minnesota is the best one all around but probably the one which I feel less excited to get in because it does not match exactly my research interests. I regret not to have applied to Mines instead of Minnesota but a little too late. Well as soon I know something I will be letting you know guys. And again, congratulations!!

  7. Hello everybody. I'm new to the forums so hello. I wanted to ask you what do you think are my chances for being accepted in a Master degree program in Geology. I know it is very difficult to predict, but may be some of you have some experience. I'm a international applicant -from Venezuela- and I'm planning to apply to the following Universities: - University of Oklahoma - University of Houston - University of Minnesota - University of Wyoming I took the GRE test yesterday and scored 156 V and 158 Q. Quants is a little low so I'm kind of worried. My bachelor degree is in Geophysical Engineering, GPA of 3.0, scored 112 on the TOEFL IBT and I have 1 year insternship experience and over two years of experience as a Geophycist in the oil exploration industry. Well guys thanks for your attention. Bye
