For those of you waiting for Georgetown - according to the website the admissions committee meets on Feb. 12. Unless snowmageddon/snowpocalypse strikes again!
(I'm a bit of a lurker; I'm waiting for my fiance's results...)

Thanks for the congrats and good luck to everyone else. I hope you hear back soon! And to go back to a previous topic - it really doesn't hurt to be in touch with your grad secretaries. I called my department secretary this afternoon to see if she had the results. She didn't, but then, not 5 minutes later, she called me back on my cell to tell me I got the CGS!
Congrats to everyone so far!

I'm expecting SSHRC to contact my graduate studies office, and then they will contact my department, and my department will then contact me. So surely I will hear from my department before getting the formal letter, yes? Because my dept secretary is faster than Canada Post? Right?
Please enlighten me if I am misunderstanding the process. I understand that this process does not apply to those who applied directly to SSHRC; I am speaking about the process for those of us who applied from within a university.
Yes, this is my understanding too - for those of us who applied from within a university.

Nothing arriving for me yet either.
Does anyone know if our departments will know before us about the Sshrc or if they will mail it straight to us?
Thanks for posting folks, it makes the waiting less argdammitshiteifonlythey'd%$@grr...if you know what i mean...
Yes, SSHRC notifies all the grad studies offices, then they in turn notify the departments and mail out the letters. My department grad secretary said that she then calls everyone to let them know.

There's a list of postdoctoral award recipients listed on the SSHRC website for 2009!

Congrats to anyone lucky enough to win this!
Ok, I got WAY too excited when I saw your post..... and then I read postdoc....

Wouldn't it be more efficient to state that receipt of an award greater than $10,000 during the 2009/2010 academic period makes you ineligible for an OGS? Just seems like common sense to me...
On my letter it states: "You may hold other awards that, together, have a maximum value of $10,000 per year." So no SSHRC.

I hate to tell you guys this...but I called SSHRC late last week and they said that the results of the doctoral competition would not be mailed out until the end of April or early May. I'm really disappointed and had hoped the results would be available mid-April (now). We might have a bit of a wait ahead of us!
But the results do get released to the individual grad studies offices at each university first before they get mailed out. So maybe it'll be sooner...... I can hope at least!

I turned down Notre Dame.

I'll be attending Georgetown for Late Medieval ~ Early Modern European History!

That is what my grad studies office said as well. Grrrrr!

Apparently the ad. com. met on Feb. 12 already, despite the snow. So, decisions have been made. I still find it strange, however, that no one has posted an acceptance on the results board.
