  1. Sounds good to me....
  2. second that...
  3. I did not take any poli sci classes as an undergraduate either, but took plenty in route to my masters in IR. I don't know about you, but I worked my butt off in grad school to get the grades that I got, harder than I ever did as an undergrad, so I don't necessarily think that undergraduate classes are easier content wise, I just think that by the time you get in grad school, you not only know what studying methods work best for you, you are studying something that you really enjoy, which makes any class easier in my opinion...
  4. Anyone know who got the Indiana acceptance that is listed on the results page?
  5. Congrats on NYU, that is AWESOME news. Just got this from Cornell, Dear Applicants, I want to thank you for your interest in Cornell's graduate program in Government. We appreciate receiving your application and will carefully read each and every one of the more than 350 which we received this year. I also want to give you some information about our time-line for decisions. We anticipate making decisions in the last week of February or perhaps the first week of March. I realize that some other schools are already making decisions, and hopefully in future years we too will be making them at about this time, but for this year I ask your patience in waiting a few more weeks to hear from us. Again, thanks for your interest in our program, and best of luck with *all* your applications! Regards, - Christopher Way Director of Graduate Studies
  6. I tell you what though. UIUC was perhaps my last place choice of the schools that I applied to, but they have been great so far. I have had three different professors write to me and say how glad they are that I was accepted and how much they hope I come to school there in the fall. They even pointed out things in my app. that impressed them and subjects that I indicated that I wanted to focus on and how good of a fit UIUC is. Their interest is going to make Illinois very difficult to turn down...
  7. Man, can I tell you how many times a day I hit refresh on my email, or how many times a minute for that matter. Doesn't help that I really dislike my job and can't wait to get the hell out of here...
  8. Yale's office of Graduate Studies sent an email message saying "An admission decision has been made on your application. Please use the following pin (same as was used to apply) to check the website, because your status has been changed" or something to that effect...
  9. Anybody else receive an admit from UIUC?
  10. I would say CONGRATS on getting in to Harvard!
  11. Thanks, and THANKS (Saban is starting to earn that $4million salary we are paying him)
  12. I agree with that assessment as well. I did get accepted to UIUC and the Dept. Head wrote to me and basically said that my background in arms control/nonproliferation research matched up perfectly with the needs and expertise of the IR faculty in the dept. So I think that they were being very precise in who they were looking for...
  13. Yep, one ivey rejection down, two to go...
  14. Just got my "regret to inform you" letter on Yale's website. Oh well, at least I got into UIUC already...
  15. What subfield are you applying for? IR/Security here...
  16. This whole thing is so screwy, that someone gets accepted to UNC and gets waitlisted at UIUC doesn't make any sense...
  17. So far I have been accepted to Illinois-Urbana Champaign Still waiting on: Princeton Yale Michigan WashU Indiana Cornell
  18. I received my acceptance to UIUC last Friday. Has anyone else heard from them?
