  1. What is everybody planning on concentrating in at Fletcher? I'm doing International Organizations and then Human Rights. Can't wait!
  2. Still nothing from SIS!!! This is getting ridiculous!
  3. Totally interested! I was looking at on-campus housing as it seems cheaper than off-campus, but I don't know if I can go back to a dorm again. Also, I have a cat that is coming with me!
  4. Denied from SIPA! I'm actually pretty ok with it. I don't think it was a great fit for me and the price tag plus NYC living expenses probably would have made it impossible anyways. Fletcher, here I come!
  5. Just called and the guy said we should be getting responses this week......JUST LEMME KNOW!!!!!!!
  6. I second this! I'm seriously considering attending DU in the Fall. I won't have a car, so where are the best places to live on the lightrail/near the campus? Where are the best areas to live and the best areas to hang out? I'm a city girl, so looking for cool cafes, museums, nightlife. ect. What is considered "affordable" in Denver?? I was in DC for undergrad and scraping by paying $1150/month for a bedroom in a 2 bedroom apartment. Thanks in advance.
  7. I'm still waiting as well!! On Friday, they released decisions at like 5:30pm according to my friend who was accepted. Maybe they'll do the same today? I'm living abroad, so with the time change I have to stay up until 12:30am to see....
  8. I'm waiting to know the same thing!! I know that people from a bunch of different programs have been admitted including development, economics, international politics....
  9. I'm still waiting for SIS as well. Freaking out over here. Can't believe they released some decisions on a Friday, so the rest of us have to wait anxiously. Congrats to everybody who was already accepted.
  10. Mine still says it's in review....guess that means it's probably a rejection.... Also, I think it's pretty awful that now I have to wait the whole weekend to probably get a rejection on Monday.
  11. I asked about when AU's decisions would be out months ago when I applied and they told me by April. I think that is their go-to answer so people don't expect replies and then freak out and call their office and demand to know when they will get an email. I'm still hoping it could come out today!
  12. Anxiously checking my email for news from American SIS and got a scholarship email from Korbel School at Denver!! One time non-renewable $10,000 scholarship. It's not an insane amount, but it definitely helps. Awesome!
  13. Living abroad is making this process so much harder!! When I get home, sometimes it's like 6am in America. Then I just have so much more time to stare at my email and wait for responses. Here's hoping we hear from American soon!!
  14. Somebody posted a Tufts MALD acceptance. It says "MALD, Other." Can somebody claim this!? Excuse me as I hyperventilate. Ok, just looked again. It says received December 15. Must have been early decision. I need to stop drinking coffee before stalking Grad Cafe results.
  15. People who go into American already, what program did you apply for? I am anxiously awaiting any news. Thanks.
  16. Schools Applying/Applied To: Monterey, Korbel, SIS, Fletcher, and SIPA Schools Admitted To: Monterey and Korbel Schools Rejected From: Still Waiting: SIS, SIPA, Fletcher Undergraduate institution: GWU Elliott School Undergraduate GPA: 3.19 (does not include study abroad average of 4.0 and has upward trend with Dean's list in junior and senior years) Undergraduate Major: International Relations with minor in French Foreign Languages: French, Japanese, Ukrainian GRE Quantitative Score: 150 (let's just not talk about it) GRE Verbal Score: 163 GRE AW Score: 4.5 Age: 24 Years of Work Experience: 3 Describe Relevant Work Experience and International Experience: Peace Corps Volunteer and study abroad in Geneva Strength of SOP (be honest, describe the process, etc): I think my SOP was pretty strong. Had a hard time fitting everything in to the SIPA one and thus not expecting to get in. I'm thinking my PC experience will be a big help. Strength of LOR (be honest, describe the process, etc): The LOR from my manager at PC is really amazing. My counterpart also wrote a very strong letter. Academic reference is from a professor prominent in IR and human rights, but I have no idea what she wrote. Long story short: Already accepted to two great schools. Don't even know what I will do if I'm accepted to more.
