Anybody else heading to UMN this weekend? I think the letter said there will be 24 interviewees - a big group

@FutureNeuroGrad, I had a similar experience - talked to a PI at a Neuro event who was recruiting for his school, the PI seemed excited about getting me to go to that school and maybe work in his lab, even went down to visit and see his lab before applications were in. Got a straight-out rejection, no interview. It was weird - I suppose I could have been fooling myself about how much the PI wanted me to attend their program, but I think it's more likely that I just had an unfortunate "draw" in the application process for that school. Maybe another professor reviewed my app and didn't like it so much; maybe I didn't quite squeeze into a GPA / GRE cutoff (although I think my scores / GPA are pretty competitive). Very glad I have some other interviews though, I loved OSU when I visited last week and I'm anxiously waiting to see if I get an admit from there.

I believe they did. At least for the interview invite I received, the sessions are Jan 9-11 and 16-18. So, it would be REALLY short notice if they sent any more invites out for the second session, and the first session is already over.

Just received an interview invite from Cornell NBB - very excited! Still waiting to hear on four other schools.

@Neurono, do you have an interview for the Cornell Neurobiology and Behavior program? I'm still waiting to hear back from that one.

I had a rejection from UIW Madison on Wednesday, then I received an interview invite from Ohio State University today. Woohoo - I've got at least one chance! I'm guessing I'm out of luck with UCSF, although my status still says "Under Review." Anybody hear from UCSD, UCLA, UMN, UC Boulder, or Cornell Neuroscience?
