  1. Do you all have some sort of update to your Michigan account? Mine looks the same as when I set it up...
  2. I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but I caved in and emailed the grad coordinator at Berkeley today who said that decisions were finalized today so if, like me, you haven't heard anything yet you presumably didn't make the cut.
  3. @swingtime - If I were in your shoes, I would definitely say no to NYU (based on funding and placement...it seems like their MAs have a better chance of getting into USC or UCLA than NYU itself, so why not start making a place for yourself at one of those schools at the MA level?). Then get a feel for whether you prefer USC or UCLA. I think USC might be a little bit better for your interests...I can't think of anyone at UCLA who would be a clear fit for your topic, although you probably know the faculty better than I do! Also, I wouldn't worry so much about staying at one school for multiple degrees. I know many people that have done this, including one of my undergrad professors, who's a star and has all three from UCLA.
  4. Anyone still waiting to hear from Yale? If so, in conjunction with what dept.?
  5. In response to earlier question, Philadelphia is a fantastic place to live. Very affordable, laid-back, and hip. It truly is the best of both worlds, a small town feel with big city amenities (and only a $13 two-hour bus ride away from New York). Yes, the crime stats are high, but I have never heard a Penn student complain about feeling unsafe (in that sense, it is very different from New Haven).
  6. Eh I wouldn't sweat it about Chicago. The Math results seem pretty irrelevant; a lot of the other humanities depts seem not to have sent out any decisions yet either
  7. Hi folks. Applied to Berkeley, UCSB, UW-Madison, Chicago, and Yale Let's keep each other company in the waiting room.
