Congrats on UVa!!! I have a feeling I'll be lucky if I get even a waitlist there, haha. Fingers crossed.

The school I'm very seriously worried about is Maryland, as it's my top choice... Last year, first acceptances went out on the 14th... next week will be nerve-wracking.

This is the University of South Carolina? I've applied there, as well. My status is still "New," with Decision Status "Pending." Did you get a call or email from them, or did you contact them to confirm?

I'll be there as well! Who doesn't love an acceptance letter, even if it isn't from grad schools?  I was also at last year's conference in NOLA-- lots of fun! Two Espressos is right: spend time out in the city. We went to a few different panels (there were five of us [plus two profs] and we all were in separate panels, so we all went to each others' as well) but went out and explored New Orleans. This year we're taking six people (plus two profs again), so it's sure to be a good time (although perhaps slightly less exciting... compared to Bourbon Street, haha).
