  1. It was roughly two weeks from the point I received my recommendation for admission from POI until the official notification from the graduate coordinator arrived. Did you enjoy your time in Austin?

  5. I wonder how many people that normally would have been "graduate school bound" have been getting employed in industry. Our graduates are getting pretty decent jobs in the oil and gas industry (not necessarily geology related)

  13. I don't think you can assume that it means waitlist/rejection. The invites probably go out as they are requested. I think geodude hit the nail on the head.

  16. I think it is all relative. Both schools that accepted me, did so within two or three weeks of me submitting my applications.
  17. I am hoping the fact that I want to study petroleum and dirty old shales, will help me get funding.

  19. I was accepted to New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and South Dakota School of Mines, but have no word on funding from either school.
  20. I am ready for this thread to wrap up before it even started. My applications are done. Now I am just satisfied with waiting a few months to hear back
  21. It was the first standardized test I have taken in 13 years. I am glad I took it early and have time to come up with a good study plan.
