  1. I got in as well. I'm 99% sure i'll be attending in the fall. Congrats!
  2. Hopefully you'll hear the good news soon! I would call their admissions office and they may give you some insight on when you will hear from them. Best of luck!
  3. I went to UNC Chapel Hill for undergrad a few years ago. It's a gorgeous campus with a friendly vibe. As for entertainment outside of the campus, many people go to Franklin street which is adjacent to the campus. The street is filled with shops, restaurants, and a pleuthora of bars. There's also a small town called Carrboro which is walking distance from the campus. It's very trendy and great if your a hipster. Other than that, Raleigh is a 30 minute drive from the campus and Durham is just a few miles away from the campus. If you have any other questions on the area, just let me know.
  4. Yeah, Columbia is my first choice. As long as I get a good financial aid package, i'm pretty sure i'll be going there.
  5. My application was complete on 11/30/12 and I heard back yesterday.
  6. Once you get accepted, the whole VIP layout changes. On the left side, you will see a message congratulating you on your acceptance.
  7. Both schools do not have a statistics requirement. If you go towards the macro approach at Fordham, there may be some statistics components to some classes but i'm not fully sure.
  8. I'm still waiting to hear from Columbia. I got accepted into NYU as well and I have until next friday to notify them if I plan to attend. At this point, I'm still deciding between the three schools. I got some valuable info on Fordham need-base institutional scholarship. I called admissions today and a lady told me that if you qualify you get $5016 per year from Fordham. In order to qualify, you have to be registered for your field work (obviously) and you have to have an EFC amount of 10,000 or less from FAFSA. If those two apply then you automatically can get the scholarship as long as the funds are still there. NYU offered me an $8000 institutional scholarship per year, but Fordham is still cheaper. At this point I'm trying to weight out the options to see where I should go. So far, I've enjoyed the friendliness of Fordham. I just wonder if name recognition of NYU has greater benefits for job prospects outside of NYC.
  9. Once you apply to Fordham University they post their decision on a part of their website called VIP.
  10. I just heard back from Fordham today, and I got in! I went on the VIP page and saw the good news there.
  11. I just found out that I got accepted into Fordham today! I applied at the end of November. Good luck to the rest of you guys!
  12. I went to a public university for my undergrad so I did not have to take out too many loans. While you attended Fordham for your undergraduate studies, did they offer a reasonable financial aid package? I know that i'll have to take out some loans but I just want to make sure it's not way too much.
  13. Congrats on getting in to Fordham! I applied at the end of November. Hopefully i'll hear from them soon as well. Did they mention anything about financial aid information with your acceptance letter?
  14. MSWGradCandidate, Thanks for the valuable information about Fordham. I haven't been able to go to any of the info sessions since I live in NC, but I did schedule a personal meeting with the Director of Admissions last November. From that meeting, I was really impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the information on their program. I feel like Fordham really cares about their students. I guess all we can do now is just wait to hear back from admission.....
  15. I was told that I will be notified via email, but I'm going to keep checking the VIP page and the mailbox just in case.
  16. hopefulmsw2013 and bbergstrom I called this morning and was told that my application was sent to a faculty member for review. At that point, the faculty member has 7 days to report to admissions with suggestions. The decision should then be finalized all within a few minutes once received. If I were you two, I would call and inform them thta you have deadlines from the other schools you applied to and they may provide more relevant info on your application. I'll post here if I hear anything else.
  17. I know i'm not in my 30s or 40s but I thought that I would give you some info anyway. You should hear from NYU first. They respond really fast with their decisions. You'll most likely know by the first week in Feb. As for Fordham, I was told that it taked 4-6 weeks from the time your application is completed. I applied in late November but the holiday also affected a prompt response. I called them this morning and was told that I should be informed by the end of the week. I hope that helps.
  18. Have you heard from Fordham yet? I applied in late November but I haven't heard anything from them yet.
  19. The application site for Fordham marked complete at the end of November but the VIP website said my application was completed on 1/3/13. I'm waiting to hear back now.
  20. This is my first day in the forum. I applied to NYU, Fordham, and Columbia. So far I've been accepted into NYU. I'm still waiting to hear from Fordham and Columbia. Has anyone heard from Fordham yet? My applications were submitted in the last week of November.
