Congratulations Biotechstudent on UNC acceptance!
Do you feel better?
How does UNC fit into your plans? I don't know anything about them but it seems like a popular program. It should be a lot closer to home.
Anyway, you've got some choices now. Maybe more good news will be on the way.
On advice of my mentor I have "committed" to Purdue (it was my second choice) but now that I went to my interview with ASU I am more impressed with their research.
I thought I was done with the process but now am having second thoughts.
Banksy,
Are you going to be interviewing with ASU Biodesign? Just got back from weekend there last night. There were only about 12 of us. The interviews were kind of disorganized. My grad student interview was substituted 5 minutes before we met. She didn't even know what to do. Nice campus and great lab but was told cost of housing was high. The lab also feels like a fish bowl- all glass (with rocket fuel being grown in tubes on the roof).
Keep your spirits up. I can't figure how these things are chosen. The numbers on some of the admits are all over the board. I am shocked at my admit. I took the GRE 2 times and forgot to send the second much better scores (+10 overall points) to Purdue.
Fingers crossed. Hoping for the best for both of you.
Congratulations!
Someone said earlier to bring 'official copies of your transcript' ... My school charges $7 for official copies.
Can you just bring photo copies? About how many would you suggest? Is there any other documents you suggest that I bring to the interviews? CV? Research Prospectus? ?????????????????????
I know exactly how you feel. I had been trying to be positive and figure out what my fall back would be. Logically you know that you will figure something out eventually.
Despite the acceptance.. I still worry that someone is going to call or email that it was all just a mistake.
Congratulations to everyone else!!!... except those getting accepted at UT Austin (kidding .....been under review for 4 months and no word...)
