Yes, I'd like more info as well even though I suppose I don't really have a choice. Subfield is IR, but I'd rather not put down research interests for the sake of anonymity... That's actually quite interesting. I was told not to reach out to POIs, and I did not do it. In fact, I was told it could harm my application because some profs get really annoyed with eager undergrads sending hundreds of emails...

This is true for me as well. I haven't heard anything else officially about penn, although a professor did email me afterwards. I'll likely be attending the weekend!

is it normal to be emailed by a professor who was not a POI? i received an email from a prof in a research area that is, in fact, quite far from mine. a bit confused...

hoping you're right that IR isn't out yet and that the sagan call was false. condolences to the uchicago and cornell casualties... they don't know what they're missing! perhaps there will be more happy news to come this afternoon or next week.

congrats on harvard!! how exciting. Called stanford a few days ago, but i don't think the grad administrator plans on ever picking up the phone... so I've just been glaring at my phone and hoping that it will ring. Hopeful on the one hand because only americanists have claimed acceptances, right? Yet there have been so many on the results board already + the scott sagan call, i wonder if all this hope is in vain...

Well this has been the most unpleasant mid-morning surprise ever. i must say, those stats do not bode well for my humble courtship with the school of my dreams.

since they usually send out acceptances a few days prior, i wonder if that means they will have acceptances out on the 20th with rejections coming out later, or if acceptances will be out a few days earlier with rejections coming out by the 20th... don't mind me. just obsessive musings in my anxiety-ridden boredom.

rejected by MIT as well. it was a poor fit and i wasn't even sure why i applied so i guess im not surprised or too bothered. gotta say though, self esteem is going down as my dream schools are coming up soon and quickly starting to feel like im not qualified for anything. on that note, any insider info on yale?

just called to MIT - all decisions were mailed out thursday night so i guess everyone else is out of luck

this just increased my heart rate to about 1000bpm. nerves overload...

crossing my fingers for cornell next week also. and MIT, if you're going to reject me, just do it quickly tomorrow because i just want to hear SOMETHING... anyone think we'll hear from yale and columbia next week?? i wonder if yale is doing that interviewing deal again this year.
