I have been doing a lot of research in this area. I think the hardest thing is to secure funding at those schools. They are amazing, and I would be very happy to attend.

Anyone here check your application online lately? I am curious if the document checklist has now been removed from everyone's application. All I have now is a listing that I paid the application fee. (I should note, all of my documents were in, on time and had previously been marked as "received")...... Not sure what this means, if anything (maybe they are just done processing so everything is now removed) but I thought it was interesting....

Thank you for checking for us - this makes more sense based on all past patterns we have seen... they all indicated that invites were sent out on the 10th or 12th (ish)....... it is not easy waiting. I have had in my head that if I do not hear from them by the 15th then I can assume I need to look at all of the other wonderful opportunities I can pursue. I am really impressed with the wonderful attitudes everyone has. We are all educational professionals who care deeply about the students we serve. Whether or not we are fortunate enough to attend Harvard will not change our devotion to the profession or our desires to see improvements made for the sake of those we are serving now and will serve in the future.

Did you call them? I know last year they gave a window of when letters were going out (actual dates). I figure the way the window works is that they send out the invites on the first day and then others get invites as people decline invitations. From reading past forums, it seems the invites did not go out before the 10th or 12th, so unless we have confirmation, I suppose we are still in the unknown. That said, it is always good to have a plan B.... got one?

The more I think about the post, the more I would not lend credence to it without a phone or email confirmation from Harvard. It may be that the poster is accurate. That said, the person who posted created their email account just yesterday and only posted one message to this forum saying that the invites went out. As we do not know anything about the person and they have no history on the forums, it seems the information should be confirmed with Harvard. Again, it may be completely accurate, but I also know that, sadly, some people come on forums to mess with emotions. Better safe than sorry. That said - Plan B, anyone??? ( I have B, C and D all lined up!)

I promised myself too, remembering the stats are nearly impossible, but it is so hard. I hope that one day other universities follow and there will be a chance for many to have this type of learning opportunity. Harvard is setting a great precedence and I hope that others follow so more than 25 a year can get more training to make stronger ripples in education. In the meantime, I look towards other plans (so I cannot stop and be sad) - I do not need Harvard to make a difference, I can do many things on my own too - it is important to understand that as amazing as their program is, it is just a program - and anyone can have an impact if they want to.....

I would wait until there is a confirmation of the information (or at least until 5:00 p.m. EST Friday before you let down completely). That said, from what I can tell, it is the most competitive graduate program in the USA at the moment... which means all of us want a chance, but few get one. I figured that perhaps half of the applicants were not qualified, but that still left over 1500 highly qualified people - and if the ones they were profiling were any indication, it seems you need to already prove yourself to be a highly successful standout before you get in to be trained to be a further success.

P.S. What cohort is your friend in, and do you know how many applicants there were???

I have seen the 10th and 12th in previous years and it seems to be on Fridays.... If that is the case we are looking at this Friday or next.... Hmmm, who is sleeping the next 10 days?? Do you know this program has a lower acceptance rate than The med school??? Crazy!

I have been wondering about EDLD interview letters..... Any predictions on when they will be sent out? My guess is this Fri. or next Fri...... With thousands of applicants I think it has one of, if not THE lowest acceptance rate around......

I just went to their website, and apparently you do NOT need to apply for aid (EdLD) unless you need more than the funding they offer to everyone. This is from the site:

If I am applying to a doctoral program and only want the support they offer, I do not need to apply, correct???I am debating as I really do not want to accrue more student loans.... finally have my loans from my previous degrees down to manageable amounts....

Here is another quick question - how many of you out there are filling out the financial aid forms and FAFSA, due Feb 4???

That is what I thought, which is why I waited 5 weeks to say anything, but now I am starting to worry since everyone else is matched...... ????

Thank you - I checked, my scores were sent to them in June 2012.... but I am worried that since they did not make the connection my application was discounted - I wrote to them today, if I do not hear back, I will call Monday.....

Thank you, This really helps! I wrote to them to find out what the issue is... I sent the scores a really long time ago, they are probably buried somewhere...

I have a quick question - who is monitoring their application with HGSE? Did they show your GRE scores as received or awaiting? I sent mine, but it is not showing in their system. Any thoughts? Thanks! KG
