  1. Congratulations! Apparently the prospective Stanford population is well represented here, after some consideration I've decided to accept their offer too!
  2. It's pretty well adjusted to cost of living - Stanford offers 34k, Columbia around the same, places in the midwest more like 25-28k. Pretty much the same standard of living :-)
  3. I'm becoming more and more torn, I've been able to eliminate a few from my list, but am still trying to choose between UI-UC, UW-Madison and Stanford. How about you?
  4. Great to hear so many people have made their choice, I'm still very much conflicted about mine. I guess I have two weeks :-)
  5. It's funny how that is the single most problematic airport I've ever been on: they cancelled my flight because they were too busy last weekend. Flying there again this weekend. I'm a bit troubled...
  6. Alright - the rejection from MIT came in yesterday. I've got all my answers! Busy visitation schedule ahead (followed by the ACS conference in NOLA), and then a tough decision. I found the rejection e-mails from both UC Berkeley and MIT to be exceptionally mechanical and not at all personalized. Did anybody else have this experience?
  7. I'm following the same philosophy, though i have declined one already without visiting (for the reason Faraday names). Also - rejection from Berkeley. Can't say I'm shocked. One more to wait for!
  8. I'm still waiting to hear from my last two .. seeing as a few people have already heard from these places I'm tempted to think they're going to be rejections. Have a difficult choice to make nonetheless, picked a few visitation weekends to go to. I'm missing maybe two days of school in total, just depends on when you plan to leave and when your classes are. Then again, I also scheduled one of them during my spring break.
  9. I've heard of a few acceptances, though not in chem programs. Haven't heard from them myself, and the e-mail I sent them never got answered..
  10. I didn't get a rejection - haven't heard anything yet. Not sure if that's good or bad, but I'm an international student applying for Pchem!
  11. So I just realized this: has anybody heard anything from Berkeley? I tried contacting their offices in several ways during and after the application process, but never ended up receiving any response. Or are they done sending out acceptances?
  12. Should be fun, I'll be there as well, as will a colleague pchemist of mine.
  13. Congrats on everyone who received their call from Brown today, I did too! Now just MIT and Berkeley left..
  14. Hi everyone, I'm surprised I'm only now finding this thread, given how long I've been working on my Chemistry PhD applications! Currently I'm in the middle of receiving responses, it's good to hear other's responses! I'm an international student applying to primarily Physical Chemistry programs, all throughout the US. So far: Accepted: UIllinois Urbana-Champaign, UWisconsin Madison, Purdue, Stanford, Columbia Rejected: Awaiting: MIT, UC Berkeley, Brown Has anyone heard from the last three, or potentially know when their visitation weekends will be?
