Thanks, that's great to know . It definitely makes me feel better about Kean's accreditation -

That's great to hear! On ASHA it says that they are only accredited through 2014, and that their next accreditation review is August 2013. So I didn't realize that they had already been re-accredited through 2017. That's definitely great to know though and means that that won't be a reason for me to knock out their program (if I'm fortunate enough to be accepted). Hopefully we'll both hear some good news from the schools we applied to soon -

I'm really not sure, and as I'm getting acceptance I'm realizing just how unsure I am. I'm graduating with only 3 years of undergrad, and I really wasn't sure how this would look to grad schools. So I kind of didn't anticipate having options haha. But I'll admit that the in-state tuition of the NJ schools would definitely be a pull for those, and if I got funding anywhere that could very well be how I make my decision (however I'm not counting on this either). Since you go to Kean, I figure I'll ask. I know they're up for accreditation this summer, and I had heard from someone that supposedly they might have some issues with the renewal. Do you happen to have heard anything about this? I've heard good things about people liking their program, but obviously it would be such a bummer to plan on going to a school and then have them not get accredited right before you're supposed to go haha. -

We're definitely very fortunate, and have nothing to complain about haha. I was anticipating lots of rejections, so I'm pretty ecstatic that I've gotten in anywhere at all. Do you have a first choice at this point among the schools you've applied to? -

From the results board, the first person notified of an acceptance last year was on April 7th. So I haven't been anticipating to hear from Kean anytime soon haha. It's really frustrating though! Because... for example... on the results board the first acceptance to Montclair was on April 10th last year. And I'm not sure about you for NYU, but both of the schools I have been admitted to I have to notify by the 15th if I'm attending. So there are going to be so few days to visit schools and make a final decision haha. -

Haha we have a lot of overlap with schools! Of the 7 you're waiting on, I'm waiting on 6 of them (just not Queens). From what I can see on the earliest any of them start notifying is end of March... so we probably have a minimum of another week to wait. The process is just taking too long haha. -

I'm still waiting on a lot of these schools also. 8 total - 5 NJ and 3 NY. I think the waiting game is going to kill me a little bit haha. Has anyone heard much about how any of these schools are about awarding assistantships? Some of them I'm filling out applications for... and like William Paterson's (for example), says you'll be notified no later than June 30th. And I'm like well that's great... since decisions about where you're attending have to be made by then haha -

Thank you Although I can hope, it seems like most of the schools I applied to don't do so much with funding so I have no confidence in getting a funded offer haha. But we'll see! I'm really excited for everyone who's been getting accepted lately! Seems like starting now the decisions are going to be rolling in. -

I got into UConn today! Second acceptance . Both UConn and Adelphi are pretty pricey though... and I don't get the impression that either provide much funding. -

I haven't heard anything from LIU - Brooklyn either. But I saw on the results page that last year the first acceptance was on February 15th, so I'm a little surprised no one's heard anything yet. -

Thank you! I just checked and I sent in my online application on 1/23, but the last of my application materials didn't get received until 1/31. So my application wasn't early by any means haha. I feel like they're just sporadically sending them at this point; seems like people hear back at lots of different times. Good luck!!! -

Thank you! Hopefully you'll hear back soon . I'm away at school right now, and just got a phone call from my mom since she just got the acceptance letter in the mail haha. From what I can see from the results board Adelphi seems to send acceptances really scattered though, so I don't think you not hearing anything yet is a bad sign . Is it funny that when I filled out my application, I don't recall there being an option to pick a campus? I'm pretty sure I'm accepted to the Garden City campus, but I can't say 100% since I really don't remember that part haha. That's great to hear both of your friends like the program though! I actually made a last minute decision to graduate early and apply to grad school this year (we're talking like January 20th for the February 1st deadlines), so I haven't visited any of the schools I applied to yet. I plan on visiting once I find out where I've been accepted to, and making my decision then (if there is a decision to make at all, if not I'll definitely be at Adelphi haha) -

Thank you . I'm definitely excited to know that I've gotten in somewhere haha. Still waiting to hear back from 9 more schools though! If anyone has any personal experience with the school, that's more what I'm looking for I guess. The website actually doesn't give that much (less information that most of my other schools). Like does anyone know if they give any funding? (and if it would have come in the letter). Or about graduate assistantships? Or really anything regarding the reputation of the program, how people seem to like it, etc. Pretty much anything that anyone knows that can't be gained from the few paragraphs on the website I'm happy to hear haha -

Just got my first acceptance from Adelphi . Does anyone know anything about their program? -
SLP/Communication Disorders Masters Applicants
slpgal123 replied to SJS's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
At my school at least (I think most schools are like this though), we're able to get A-'s, just not A+'s. Pluses and minuses exist in the grading scale, there are just no A+'s. So if most schools are like this, I can understand why they'd exclude them. -

Can anyone tell me what you think my chances are? I'm definitely nervous, but hoping for the best. I'm not sure if this hurts my chances, but I'm graduating with only 3 years of undergrad. I'll be graduating with a Psychology major, and a Communication Disorders minor. I have a lot of Elementary Education coursework (I only recently decided to not complete my education major and graduate early instead). So here are my stats. Overall GPA: 3.91 Minor (Communication Disorders) GPA: 4.0 GRE: V- 157, M- 161, AW- 5.5 Schools I'm applying to: Montclair, Kean, Richard Stockton, CUNY Brooklyn, CUNY Hunter, Adelphi, Seton Hall, William Paterson, UConn, Long Island University (Brooklyn Campus) I'm really just hoping to get in somewhere. If anyone could give me an idea of what you think my chances are it's greatly appreciated! Also, best of luck to everyone.
