  1. Anyone know the time frame for hearing anything back from Ohio State? My application has said "Your application has been sent to the graduate program for academic review." since last Thursday? I'm getting anxious!

Congrats to everyone who has good news so far!

It took me about 4 weeks. My application was complete (sent for academic review) around early January and I heard back the first week of February.

  2. Hey!  Can I ask when you applied to UIC?

My application was complete on January 7th. But then I had to fix a few things the first week of February. When I called to fix the mistake, they told me that day they were reviewing my application (Around Feb 4th or 5th). The letter was sent about a week after that.

  3. Just got a phone call from my brother that they sent my acceptance letter from UIC to my permanent address instead of my mailing address.

But anyway I got in! So excited! It was dated February 12th so I'm not sure why I haven't received an e-mail or why my status hasn't changed online.

  4. When I spoke to someone in their office, they said they hoped to have decisions made by March 31st (for the Jan. 15th deadline).  However, they also told me they were having difficulty getting attachments to open for some of their applicants (mine all opened fine, she checked them while I was on the phone), so you may want to call on the premise that you're confirming they received everything.  Finally, she also stated they had roughly 900 applicants this year, so "they're trying to wade through all those applications".

Oh wow, it's really important for me to know before March 31st, hopefully I find out before that. I already got a phone call from them because I accidentally submitted the wrong application (I know, embarrassing). Hopefully I find out soon :/

    Thanks for the info! :)

  5. I've done 3 different research studies as well as presentating at the Ohio NASW chapter conference. I also worked on a project that was developed under the new health reform law, which was an assessment of community health. Besides that I have completed two separate volunteer experiences for the past 2 years. One at a food bank and another at an agency that works with children and mental health. It's not much experience but I didn't realize the importance of volunteering/getting involved into my sophomore year of college.

  6. Hi everyone, I'm new! I have applied to 6 schools total (Fordham, NYU, Loyola, UIC, Ohio State, UIC Urbana-Champaign). So far I've been accepted to Loyola which was super exciting! I've been checking my OSU status every day (that's my top choice) and I'm going crazy waiting. I probably checked OSU 15-20 times today :/
