Unfortunately, no. No rejection. No waitlist. No nuthin'. My grad transcripts were late in arriving (to my utter dismay and serious frustration). Over a month late. So, we'll see if that precluded me from consideration. It stinks, because it would be awesome to work with John Paden.

Getting accepted is certainly my goal here. They may be a stretch, but in looking at the Results board, I might actually be a good candidate (if GRE scores are anything to judge by). I haven't heard a thing from any of my schools (including American and GMU), and I'm getting pretty antsy over here.

For anyone stressing about the status of their Columbia apps, I called today, after seeing that my GRE scores were not received. It turns out that they were, but the site isn't updating. Now all they have to do is accept me with full funding!

I feel for you, man. Last year was a wash for me (1 waitlist, 5 rejections). This year, I've spread a bit more - but man, I'm on tenterhooks. Ack! You're right. Something's fishy. From the ASF page: Are we being strung along?

Sorry to hear about that Last year, I was rejected by 5 schools and waitlisted at another. It stinks. But from the many discussions I've had with doctoral students, many people have to go through this process multiple times.

Unrelated to Chicago ... Glad to see your GREs were similar to mine. 169v/158q/4aw. Gives me hope that I won't immediately be thrown out from consderation. Sucks, because my writing is generally very strong (in past tests, 5.5+ consistently). Gives me hope

Been lurking for a while - this is my first post. Bummed that I haven't yet heard from GMU. I know other people are getting their letters, and I really thought I was a strong candidate for the school. Is there any chance left? I got worried a bit ago - they said they hadn't received my official transcripts, which freaked me out. I'm concerned that they tossed my application without reviewing it. This year I applied to: George Mason, Georgetown, George Washington, Columbia, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, American, Univ. of Maryland.
