I do not currently have a scheduling conflict but am concerned about getting them, since five of my programs have yet to make any admission decisions. I get the impression that recruitment events are all typically held in March, but are they spread across the month or concentrated in a specific part? Should I be holding off on booking plane tickets and sending RSVPs in the event of an overlap or is this an unfounded concern?
Who else can claim an acceptance from UT-Austin? What do you know that's worth sharing? What questions do you have?
Their acceptance emails were short on the details regarding the recruitment event, but I noticed that they've now put up a page on the departmental website. http://www.utexas.edu/cola/depts/sociology/graduate/admissions/Recruitment.php
Speaking of the recruiting event, anyone know why it is on a Wednesday and Thursday?
Also, are there any current UT-A grads/alumni who can tell us a little more about the event?
Sociology here. Our event is March 6th and 7th (a Wednesday and Thursday?).
Sociology programs fully fund students for all five years, but no details on the components yet.
A little late, but got the email from Ohio State on 1/16 and from UT-Austin on 1/30. Still haven't heard anything from Cornell, Duke, Harvard, NYU, Princeton, or UChicago.
