I don't know about socio cultural

I think given moving costs of about $4000, housing costs of about $20000, tuition of about $32000, living costs of about $20000 (you could do it for less) plus research costs if you have to go anywhere, its expensive any way you slice it. Those are the numbers I was quoted. At least this year, there is hardly any funding. Gates Cambridge, a full cost scholarship trust, estimates their scholarship to be worth about $60,000. And their stipend is low. So I think you can do it cheaper as you have done, but I also think you have to be realistic, that's all. I'm glad you've had a good experience. I'm sure many others did too. Maybe I have bad info. Just a warning to really consider the cost

4 students were accepted for archaeology at Harvard this year. I wouldn't get your hopes up if you are waiting for that sub div. apparently all girls and all around the same age and all indicated they will accept.

Don't do the UK masters program route. I was thinking about Cambridge so I applied for their MPhil in archaeology. I got in and went to visit. Basically the professor told me she'd love to have me but this was going to be about an $80,000 year when it was all said and done. Beyond that, many students with masters from Uk schools are having a terrible time getting into reputable phd programs in the states. Further, going abroad hurts your connections here in the states, if that's where you plan to work. Apply in the states. If you don't get in, intern somewhere and build your skills to apply the following year.

No word from NYU yet? Didn't get an interview, guess I'm not accepted. Also, did anyone hear from UCLA? I saw an acceptance on the results page and know they notified sociocultural Anthro people last week.

I received my acceptance to Cornell's anthropological archaeology program on Thursday of last week via email. Haven't seen any arch subdivision rejections so I think they tell their acceptances a little bit before which is why we saw the Cornell socioanthro acceptance like 2 weeks ago. was anyone else on here accepted to the arch subdivision? I have an interview at washU end of February. I haven't heard from anyone else. Cornell was really the perfect fit me for though, so I don't expect positive results from any other schools. I applied to Oregon, UCLA, Harvard, WashU, NYU, Cornell, and U of Chicago. we will see. Good luck to everyone.

Not every school interviews. Those that do will contact by next week I would guess. But its important to remember not everyone gets interviewed that gets in.

Harvard accepted their four already for anthro archaeology Fall 2013. My friend got in via telephone on Monday or Tuesday of this week. Cornell is supposed to make a decision next week for anthro arch. so I wouldnt get too worried about the Cornell results up as of now if you are waiting for that field. I have an interview at WashU for anthro arch on Feb. 21-23. I haven't heard from anyone else yet. Has anyone hear anything from UChicago?
