  1. York 2 year results are coming out! I saw last night that I was unsuccessful. Will most likely be going to WLU!
  2. Wait-listed at UofT Ahhh..the waiting in a sense continues. Congrats to all who are getting in!
  3. Can you explain what you mean about York offering $15k? Do you mean funding in the form of a bursary based upon individual financial situations?
  4. I'm ready for some more results this week! Although the wait could easily stretch until week after next. C'mon UofT and York! Hang in there everyone! Soon this will be over!
  5. Thanks everyone!! They sent me an email. Deadline to respond is April 12.
  6. Hi stary, I am in the International and Community Dev. specialization. I have decided to accept Calgary's offer but if I get accepted to a school in ON, there's a good chance I will pull out. On the flip side though, they do have a very clearly defined stream for Int'l SW! Trying to sort out the Program vs. Location dilemma! Best of luck on your applications!
  7. Congrats! I was also accepted into the 2 year at Calgary last night. I am extremely excited, but also unsure how to proceed because the deadline for responding is so soon! How can I make this decision without knowing the verdict of other schools like UofT and Laurier? Do you suggest accepting and then perhaps declining later? Should I call the other schools?
  8. All I can confirm is that if you haven't heard anything from York, your file is most likely in the Social Work Dep. My application still says "unsuccessful" but I got confirmation from York that it was sent to the graduate review committee about two weeks ago since I shouldn't have been rejected by Admissions. From what I hear of York's reputation, I'm not expecting my status to be updated or to find out the verdict for awhile! Anyone else interested in International Social Work? I have Laurier on the top of my list for it's CPPO stream and the U of Calgary for it's ISW program. Anyone have a comment about which school is stronger in this respect? Toronto also has a Social Justice and Diversity specialization and of course, a wealth of resources.
  9. Thanks for this tip! I am so anxious to call them now because to my knowledge I do meet min. requirements. The thing it could be is the Honours degree. I did my undergrad in the States where they have a different meaning for an Honours degree. I assume that York means a 4 year degree not a special Honours status as is known in the States. Perhaps they thought I hadn't completed an Honors degree because I may have checked the "no" box thinking it to be referring to the US definition. Anyways, I will call them asap. I live in Asia so have to work the time zones a bit
  10. Hey all, Been following these posts for awhile now. Nice to have some camaraderie! Sadly, for me, I have already been rejected York updated my status about a week ago to "unsuccessful". I was quite shocked to see something so early which made me feel pretty discouraged about my other apps out there. I have also applied to WLU, UofCalgary and Toronto. I wanted to share to let others of you know that no news is still good news at this point and to commiserate with others who were also already turned down. Here's to the other applications!
