Anyone waiting for/heard news from CUNY? I'm not hopeful but a resolution is always nice.

Who claims the other NYU acceptance? Any details? Have they finished now?

So does anyone know who the DGS for NYU actually is?

They've probably decided Friday and each POI will contact his/her acceptances individually... so I'm going to relax, accept it and stop worrying if I hear nothing by the end of Tuesday! Of course, until then I'll be a nervous wreck but at least the end is in sight.

It says email on the 24th Feb... now, it's the 24th here in Europe and it's only been the 24th in NY for 6hrs so unless the professor is up at 6am Sunday morning, which I highly doubt, then something isn't quite right or they've filled it in wrong. No doubt it's true that they got an email though so I guess for the rest of us we need to hope that they decided really late Friday and someone got an email but they haven't told everyone yet... AT LEAST, THAT'S WHAT I'M CLINGING TO!!! WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE DENIAL STRATEGY?!!!

Well done, that sounds wonderful! Meanwhile, what the flip is going on with NYU? Put me out of my misery so that I can get on with my life.

That's interesting but I'm wondering do they have preference for waitlisted people who go to the intro event? If I get waitlisted I don't know that I can afford to speculatively fly to NYC just for an event when I'm not even accepted... Would be really curious to know what you think about this...

It was a while back now... I was checking whether they had a piece of info for my app, which they did, and when I asked when they'd be done I was simply told by early to mid March at the latest (I think it's a default reply along the lines of the faculty web page that just says 'by 15th march' and that's it)... Sorry, nothing exciting!

Haha, I rang them too and I think the person I eventually got on the phone was the SAME as the voice responder so good thing you hung up if the recording was intimidating because the real thing was even worse...!

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG COME ON NYU! Maybe they have 3,000 applications this year and they have decided to just throw them out of the window and the first 4 get in and the rest go in the incinerator? I know I'm not getting in but I'd just like to be told.

Thanks for the info, it's interesting and slightly reassuring to understand better. However, since I have only applied to two schools for PhD, I'm not going to make anyone wait. If someone phoned me today with an offer that is what I want (one has a variety of funding and I'd need to know what I'm getting) then I'd probably be happy to just tell them that I accept there and then! At most, I'd make them/me wait the weekend until making it final. I had done such a good job of forgetting about all this until the middle of this week!
