  1. Do you know if the committee will be having a second meeting to determine the second round acceptances, or if they will admit people on a rolling basis as they hear from first round applicants?
  2. Hey guys! After weeks of anticipation and days of mild anxiety I finally received word that I was accepted into the GSPIA while at work today. Although I have no funding, I am relieved. I will likely accept GSPIA, unless a miracle happens and my Carleton application is moved from "hold" to "accepted." Thanks for the words of encouragement!
  3. When do you have to notify NPSIA and GSPIA of your decision? The good thing is you're able to narrow down the city you are going to live in. Congrats on the full funding! For me, funding would make a huge difference. I've heard that uOttawa's reputation has been building steadily over the last few years, and a few profs have really become well-known. However, it is true that Carleton's reputation precedes itself. Would you choose GSPIA if the funding offer wasn't as good? Would you still want to go to NPSIA if you didn't get into law school? Also, if anyone is still curious, I have still not received any updates via InfoWeb or email about my GSPIA application. I don't think this is a good sign.
  4. Thanks for the words of encouragement! Hopefully I have news tomorrow.
  5. I suggest calling them. My application is on "hold," which I assume is the waitlist. I only found this out through calling. When I called I was told that it was just a matter of waiting (which has been painful already). She also told me that she would be sending out an email to all the "hold" applicants letting them know that they were on hold, but I haven't received any emails indicating the status of my application. I called the early in the week of the 18th I think (the week the first acceptance letters were sent out), and she told me the email would go out either late that week or early the next. However, every university I've applied to has been late in replying, if they have replied at all. When I spoke to Carleton they were at least polite. My experience contacting the equivalent uOttawa program has been mostly rude and unhelpful.
  6. Congrats on the acceptance (and congrats to everyone else). Now I'm really nervous, although I admit it really doesn't look good that I haven't heard any news yet. Hopefully they'll let me know tomorrow :S
  7. Congrats! You must be thrilled!
  8. I called uOttawa again, and had a nicer person answer the phone. She said that the decisions have been made, and are being sent on an ongoing basis. She said they could not look up specific applications, but that they will all be sent out by Monday. Nothing new but thought I would share anyways. I asked her why they were staggering their notification of acceptance, and she mentioned that whoever is in charge of notifying applicants does it for more than the one program, and I guess they don't go in order of program. Also, my InfoWeb finally has a "registration information" tab. Not sure if this is a good sign, but at least it's some sort of change.
  9. I am still waiting on Carleton (my application is on "hold"), but my Infoweb hasn't changed at all either. Don't give up all hope yet. They may not be entirely finished yet. Good luck!
  10. I guess it's the luck of who answers the phone. She seemed annoyed when I asked about it, but maybe she received a few calls asking the same thing. I think I'll just wait for an answer. Seems like I should know either way soon.
  11. Congrats on the acceptance! I tried calling again now (didn't even get a chance to say my name or student number), but I was told I would be updated by the end of the week. You're lucky you got an answer.
  12. That's great news (assuming I can actually get into the program lol). Thanks for the info! @TheLengendof congrats on the acceptance. You're lucky to have found out so quickly (relative to some other applicants for the program). Thanks for the update!
  13. Hey guys, For those of you still waiting to hear from NPSIA (like myself) good luck. I'm hoping they really make decisions soon, as I need to take summer economics courses and plan a move from Vancouver if my application does end up being succesful. Anyways, I emailed uOttawa about when they would be sending out notification of acceptance or denial into the Public & Intl Affairs MA program. I was told that it would be either by the end of this week or early next week. I'm not sure what to make of the person who posted on the results search page.
  14. I'm sorry to hear that. Don't give up hope with your uOttawa application yet. I would try calling them if you think they have sent some letters out. It will ease your mind a bit, and give you a better idea of how far along they are in assessing applications. From reading forums like this it seems they really tend to stagger their results. Good luck!
  15. Mine says the same thing. I wasn't expecting to hear anything until early April (although i guess that is pretty soon). Considering the uncertainty with my Carleton application I am really feeling the pressure with this application. BTW, do you know if there is a forum/thread dedicated to that uOttawa program?
