  1. Just as an anecdote- I had this happen to me. I was accepted into a program without any mention of funding. I was surprised, so I quickly got in touch with my POI in the program. He told me that decisions regarding funding were made later and they would get back to me in several weeks. Sure enough, they eventually did and it worked out fine for me. Like I said, I was surprised, but I guess that some departments just do it that way.
  2. So, I posted this question in another thread, but it might be better off being posed here. I received my first acceptance and am waiting to hear from several others. It has been about 5 weeks since my applications were finished. Should I email.get in contact with the other schools?
  3. That is helpful, thank you. Should I mention anything about being accepted somewhere else, or is that not useful information for them?
  4. Hi all! I applied to six graduate programs in geology. I don't want to seem overbearing, but I need help deciding whether to contact schools that I have not heard from. So far I have received: *one offer of admission *one interview That leaves four schools that I have not heard from. Should I go ahead and contact the remaining schools? If so, should I mention that I was already accepted to another school when I contact the POI in my program? The professor who I would be working with is already asking me about potential research projects and I feel like it would be inappropriate to wait until April 15th until I respond with my decision about the offer. Any advice/ personal experience in this area would be greatly appreciated!
