  1. I'm getting nervous! I'm currently running around trying to get all of my clearances and other paperwork done. I got married in May and changed my legal name which has made these clearances a little bit more of a hassle to do. I'm also working a lot of hours at various jobs so we have a little bit more in savings before I start the program.
  2. Thank you so much! According to the person who called from SHU, I have ten days to decide once I get the letter. It seems like it wasn't a good idea on their part to wait so long since so many people have already left deposits at other universities. But I'm sure they have their reasons.
  3. I am willing to help anyone who needs help as well!
  4. Congratulations on your acceptances!! Are you planning on attending? I already accepted at another university so I will most likely be declining.
  5. I got a phone call today saying I have been accepted into the program at Seton Hall!
  6. I already accepted an offer at my top choice but now I just want to know!
  7. I went to an information session/round table discussion today on CSD PhDs. It was really interesting. I've been debating getting my PhD. I will be graduating with a certificate in Undergraduate Research (a series of 6 classes and research assistantships) and am currently finishing up my Honors Thesis. I really enjoy doing research most of the time. I have three juniors who report to me, which is fun But I'm not sure I could handle four more years of school on top of the two years for my Masters. I plan on doing a Masters thesis to help me decide.
  8. My fiance and I had this same discussion. We decided to just stay at our current apartment because it's cheaper overall. I'm hoping we made the right decision. If it was cheaper to move closer though I think we would have. Even with the gas we're saving money being further away.
  9. I'm going to East Stroudsburg University! 1. Their course offerings are exactly what I want. I love how all of the courses are required too so I don't have to choose from a set of electives - I want to take them all. 2. I loved their clinic when I visited. Their current graduate students and professors really made me feel welcome. 3. I love the small cohort size. 4. It's close where I will be living in New Jersey and has the best commute even though it's in another state. My fiance is excited that we don't have to move!
  10. Congratulations! I go there now for undergrad and I love it. The clinic is gorgeous. The professors and supervisors are awesome. You'll love it! If I didn't have to move north I would have stayed here in a heartbeat.
  11. Thank you!! Yes, I will be attending East Stroudsburg. I'm very excited! I plan to stay on this board and hopefully help out next year's round of applicants. Don't worry about not thinking clearly - I think this graduate school application process turned my brain to mush many, many times! A waitlist is better than a rejection at least but I hope you get taken off (and therefore accepted!)!
  12. I was accepted first through an email and then received a letter. I have decided to attend a different school for various reasons. Once they receive my admissions deposit I will be declining at Montclair. Hopefully that will help someone here on the waitlist!
  13. I'm sending in my admissions deposit to East Stroudsburg University tomorrow! After they receive it I will be declining Montclair's offer. Hopefully that will help someone here on the waitlist
  14. At least it's not just me! I keep having this weird nightmare that they email me tomorrow and are like "Oh yeah you know how we accepted you? JK nevermind!!!" I know that won't happen. I'm just going insane.
  15. I feel much better knowing it's not just me and that other people struggle with the decision. Thank you very much for your advice! I definitely plan to advocate for myself.
