  1. I really don't see what the big deal is. If you're well controlled on an SSRI, there isn't really an issue. If you were a schizophrenic who was controlled on antipsychotics, then yes, that would be a big deal. Why? Stress and new environments may exacerbate one's OCD or schizophrenia, but any physician in any country can easily change OCD meds; the same cannot be said for schizophrenia. The pre-departure medical clearance form is benign. They do ask about a history of psychiatric disorders, but there is space for the physician to describe what the disorder is, how severe it is, and if it is well controlled. I truly believe you're overthinking the OCD issue; you should be more concerned about your odds of even getting an ETA. Good luck
  2. Many countries in Europe do not let individuals enter MS or higher degrees after the age of 30/35, so I guess it's not surprising that some of the Fulbright committees like having younger applicants. While I don't agree with it, ultimately it's up to the host country
  3. Thanks! I'm really sorry things didn't work out, but when you think about it, there were only 8-10 finalists out of 45 applicants, so obviously you had a great project. I hope grad school goes well, unless you decide to reply, in which case, good luck!
  4. I'm going to Denmark next year!
  5. Has anyone heard anything recently about when Denmark will announce? I was accepted into another program, which I have tentatively accepted, but the longer this process drags on, the more work and trouble I'm creating for the other program (that is if I even get the Fulbright). This process is making me feel more stressed out and guilty everyday this drags on.
  6. C'mon, Scandinavia, why is this taking so long?
  7. What's the deal with Scandinavia this year?
  8. This is one of my favorites http://satwcomic.com/coat-of-arms
  9. Still waiting to hear from Denmark, however, in the meantime, I've been listening to a lot of Xander, Nik og Jay, Alphabeat, Medina, and even some old school Anne Linnet and TV-2. Oh, Denmark, why do you keep me hanging on? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpFaeHSqA8s Good or bad, I'm glad to have gone through this process; I feel like it's been a tremendous learning experience
  10. I'm in a similar situation. I was offered another fellowship, and I have until noon today to accept it. I was hoping to hear back from the Fulbright sooner so that I wouldn't have to potentially renege on an acceptance. I went ahead and accepted the fellowship, but I just hope I hear back from th Fulbrigh soon so that if I do have to renege, the other fellowship will have adequate time to fill the position.
  11. If Germany just found out, Denmark has to be next, right?
  12. Good or bad, at this point, I just want to know!
  13. I'm a finalist for a European country, and I was offered a different fellowship that will need a 'yes' or 'no' response within the next 2 weeks. Does anyone know who you should email to find out when your country will announce their final decision? More importantly, does anyone know if countries will even tell you when they will announce their decision? Thanks!
