Vandy, one of the best programs in the country is pretty much 'begging' you to join.... I'd put my eggs in that basket personally:)

    Lele,

Sounds like you gotta go for Emerson

You have a scholarship, you get to be in Boston, what is it about Emerson that doesn't convince you Or that makes you hesitate?  Furthermore, in my experience, if you want to do research, then just make it happen. You know what I mean? If you want it, you'll get it type of thing.

Keep pushing, I think you're close to a decision

By the way, I'm all the way for MGH for many of the reasons expressed by FutureMSSLP

Believe me it's Mind over matter. It's a question of how bad do you want it. My first degree was in languages, my second degree was in computer engineering. What I needed to do to transfer my mind set into engineering was just a matter of attitude.

My point is, if you don't think you can do it, you won't be able to do it. If you start believing in yourself, you will be amazed at what you can overcome.

Advice for math: practice practice practice. When I started, my score was in the 27th percentile. After 4 months of practice, I ended up in the 77th percentile.

Practice as much as you can and don't give up!!!

School is an investment. Think about it like this; while you're in it, it's like an enhanced incubation center where you learn, absorb information to prepare you for later. When you're out, it's time to apply your newly acquired gift(s).

My advice is to take the research oppotunity and take advantage of the 'incubation' ceremony, albeit difficult at times, it will pay you back in other ways. (I can only speak from experience...)

    Good luck,
    Ee.

I was brave enough to ask via e-mail, but no response

As an FYI, I was accepted to MGH today with scholarship. Any thoughts on BU vs MGH?

    Cheers,
    Ee.
