I worked for the government for a while before my PhD. I wouldn't be surprised if the SSHRC people sent the mail out within the governnment on Monday, but that there was a delay with the mail staff responsible for handing them over to Canada Post. Canada Post may not have been able to start the delivery till Tuesday.

Just wanted to let you know that I also emailed SSHRC to confirm that the letters were mailed out on Monday and received the following email: You are correct; the results were mailed out in the afternoon of April 20th, 2015. Per Canada Post standards, you should receive this letter within ten business days. The results will also be posted on the SSHRC secure site at the end of this week. ---------------- So now we have three bloggers who have received the same response - good luck all!

Spoke to them yesterday. They confirmed that the letters would be sent out today.

I called them yesterday, and apparently they won't be contacting direct applicants with the outcomes till March. They couldn't tell me when in March specifically, just that we would have to wait longer and that the results are not ready yet.
