Yeah, it looks like I'll be headed to UConn in the fall! I really like my POI there and it's a pretty good funding package, so I think things will turn out well. I'm just really glad the excruciating wait is over, even if it didn't turn out exactly how I hoped. Thanks for the kind words! Everyone here is so nice and supportive! I'll definitely be hanging around to see how things wrap up for others and offer support/advice when I can.

Well, I just checked the OSU website (for about the 4th time today) and it said a decision had been made. Looks like my application for admission was not approved. This after my POI said I stood out among the other applicants and was most certainly going to be offered admission with a multi-year funding package. And then after he said a month later that he had been over confident when he spoke earlier and that I was on the waiting list, but he still believed I would be accepted with funding. I've gotta say... this sucks.

Re: OSU, I heard that they admitted fewer students in the first round this year because last year more students accepted their offer than they had anticipated and they found themselves overcommitted. I believe they are waiting for students to reject their offers before admitting any more students so the same thing doesn't happen again. So, it is in effect a waiting list, though I don't know that they are calling it that.

Here's yet another plea from a sad waitlisted soul. If you were accepted to Ohio State but aren't going to go there, please please please officially reject the offer.

Yep. I heard yesterday that final admissions decisions would be going out soon. I know they are really late this year in sending out that last wave of admissions, so it sounds like it could still go either way.

Hi! So turns out I actually know a little bit about OSU admissions! My POI told my undergrad advisor (they are friends) that I got in at the end of January, but I hadn't heard a single thing from the school and was going slowly out of my mind. But then today I got an email from my undergrad advisor saying that he just received a note from my POI saying that the official notifications on admissions should go out very soon. So, all is not lost and they are definitely still going to send out that second wave of acceptances. They just seem to be really late this year. Oh, and my status still says "In Review," too.
