  1. Congratulations!!! Do you mind sharing what area of concentration?
  2. I applied last year to ND's MTS (History of Christianity) and received the rejection email from Dr. Reynolds on 03/10
  3. just out of curiosity, which concentration did you apply to in the MTS at ND? I applied last year and received rejection at the end of March, but I suspect if you make the cut, you will hear something in the next two weeks. All the best!
  4. Did you perhaps hear anything about the Masters applicants for this year? Have all the decisions been made for funded offers (along with the Phd's) or is there still hope? Have a blessed evening and Sunday!!
  5. It would certainly be nice if the two departments worked well together as SLU has some serious resources in the Phil. department, especially in terms of Medieval Philosophical Theology. I haven't heard back from SLU, so at this point I am pretty confident in my not getting a spot. Has anyone applying to the Masters degree program heard anything back yet?
  6. To the SLU admit, CONGRATS!! Would you mind sharing your stats?
  7. In an effort to help pass the time, I thought it would be interesting to open up this topic to the board. As my interests are primarily in the historical relationship between canon law and theology, I find there to be no small amount of debate among theologians of all faith traditions concerning this topic - and as GradCafe forum looks to have a wide representation of faith traditions, it should make for a good discussion! A couple basic questions to begin. . . (i) is it necessary for the Church to have law? If yes, why - if no, why not? (ii) what is the philosophical/theological/historical basis for your position?
  8. I am applying to the Ph.D. program in Historical Theology at SLU; I want to work with Kenneth Steinhauser on Augustine. Anyone else applying? What are your interests / who do you want to work with? I notice the majority of Ph.D. students at SLU tend to be Protestant, which is interesting. Granted, there is always a Protestant contingent in Catholic universities, but I've never seen it be the majority. Thoughts?
