  1. I got into Hunter, CCA and Columbia. CCA will be the least expensive with a scholarship, so I will go there. I can move to NY afterwards debt free. -80,000.00 is not a good way to start an art career.
  2. Those numbers up top are totally off. I am guessing someone made them up, since there are only around 100 grad students in ALL (painting, ceramics, new media, sculpture, textiles etc) departments at CCA. Most of the SFAI faculty went to CCA after the financial collapse of the SFAI about five years ago. I believe it used to have stronger grad program-but CCA is well known to have a better grad program currently. I think the SFAI undergrad is slightly better than their grad-only from conversations I have had with former students. CCA has a really strong grad program but San Francisco as a whole is not a great painting city, since it is not NY, London or Berlin and has very few galleries.
  3. Sculpture in every school. Amen on the tacky email rejection from Yale. It was my last choice, so I feel OK about that. I am hoping for Stanford or USC, since they are free. Has anyone ever heard of CCA giving a full ride? What about RISD?
  4. I applied to Yale-Rejected today Columbia UCLA USC RISD CCA-Interview I am surprised more people are not applying to CCA. They have amazing facilities and you can work with people in any department. They have a paid Independent study option with any artist you want to work with, and most of the great faculty from SFAI now working at CCA as well. So you can make your own program. I also heard they have great funding...soon to find out. The only down side is San Francisco for 2 years.
  5. Yale- Rejected via email Columbia - ? Stanford- ? CCA - Interview USC -? UCLA - ?
  6. for Sculpture... Hunter-accepted Columbia-waitlisted CCA-accepted SFAI-accepted SVA-accepted Art Center-accepted Bard-rejected
  7. I have been accepted to Hunter SVA SFAI CCA Art Center and waitlisted at Columbia I am only considering Hunter and CCA. I think CCA has stronger faculty (they actually reply to emails as well:) and with scholarships will cost me much less than even Hunter (out of state 4 times the price your first year). I am only concerned about living in San Francisco for 2 years. It seems totally disconnected from the art world. I didn't apply to Yale or other strong programs in undesireable places. I am now wondering if SF falls into that.... Any thoughts? Any one else have similiar concerns?
