  1. Hey guys, I had a question that I was hoping you could help me answer. I want to clarify that THIS IS NOT ABOUT REVERSE DISCRIMINATION OR AFFIRMATIVE ACTION nor is it a criticism or argument for the programs. I was scrolling through edfind viewing programs and I was just wondering how being a minority serving institution, ie. historically black universities or hispanic serving institutions, effects admissions, if at all, if you are a non-minority student applying to one of these schools? Thanks!
  2. Thanks Latte Macchiato! I was accepted to both but now I need to pick . So stressful thinking I could do the programs and still be years away from starting my masters!
  3. Just interviewed at Chapman's post bacc. If anyone is thinking of doing a post-bacc Chapman accepts students in the fall and spring and offers a SLPA certification at the end of the program.
  4. Hi all, I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice so I can make the decision between these two programs. Chapman is a 10 month program, about $13,000 with tuition & fees, and has class Fridays 5-9:30 PM and Saturday 8-5PM. 2 courses are taken at a time and rotate every other week (even week class 1, odd week class 2) and are taken in 5 week quarters. The program offers SLPA certification at the end of the program (at an additional cost). I technically could apply for the 2014 application cycle, but would only have 4 classes under my belt by December. CSUF is a 2-5 semester program, which I would do in 3 semesters so I could take 4 classes at a time. Tuition and fees ends up at roughly $12,000. Class schedules are like traditional college classes (M-F). I would be eligible to apply for the 2015 application cycle (because my classes wouldn't be finished in time to start in August, because I'm pretty sure the classes aren't offered in summer. I am leaning towards Chapman because I could apply next year, but I think my stats would not be competitive enough to apply in 2014 in the first place and Ill end up applying in 2015 just like I would have at CSUF. Thoughts? Thanks guys!!!! Stats: Undergraduate GPA- 3.184 Psychology Major at UCR GRE Scores- V: 155 QR: 150 AW: 4.5 1.5 years behavior interventionist for children with autism Observed 50+ hours of speech therapy in private & group settings Volunteered at 2 Special Children' Rodeos
  5. I was accepted to CSUF's program on April 3rd and I am very excited/stressed out. Good luck to other post-bacc applicants!
  6. Ya I figured Portland state was not a very competitive process admissions process but I know CSUF and CSULB are, just like their graduate programs. I am hoping for either of the CSUs since I'm a SoCal native and I am hoping to not have to relocate for post-bacc work. Hopefully ill hear from CSUF and CSULB soon
  7. Hi all, Is anyone else waiting to hear from post-bacc programs? I applied to the programs at CSU Fullerton, CSU Long Beach, CSU Los Angeles, and am finishing my application to Chapman and Portland State. I know a lot of people have already heard from the master's programs there, but what about their post- baccs? I will be applying to USU's program if none of these work out, but I am really hoping for an in-classroom program
