Haha I wish! I'm coming in as a leveling student, so I actually would have to do two extra semesters. It's a generous offer and I was really surprised, but it still leaves quite a bit of money to come up with, so I'm still not sure. I'm still holding out hope that I'll hear from Vanderbilt soon!
Just got accepted to Baylor! I was getting nervous because I hadn't heard anything but I just got my email! I was offered a total of $38,000. This makes the decision harder lol...
And congrats katieliz456!!
Thank you! At the moment, UTD is probably my top choice (unless I get into Vandy) so I unfortunately am not likely to be declining anytime soon BUT, I would think that your odds of getting in are pretty good! I think UTD accepted over 100 students, which means the likelihood of at least 15 people declining should be very high. I also know someone who was accepted and will most likely not be attending, so hopefully that will help you!
UT Dallas is another school that accepts leveling students without needing to re-apply, and you can finish pretty quickly. I have been taking a few leveling courses (6 so far) and would be able to complete UTD's program in 5 semesters (2 years - fall, spring, summer, fall, spring), so I would assume those who haven't had any could probably finish in 6 semesters (including 2 summers).
Haha, I think I'm going to need several people to decline to have a chance...
And I forgot about Baylor's Easter break! Keeping my fingers crossed that we hear tomorrow! Good luck!
Nice! I'm applying for Fall 2013. Haha, I don't think Baylor will be one of my top picks, but I just visited OU today (which I thought would be last on my list) and liked it, so who knows! My top choice going into this was Vandy, but I got wait-listed (I saw you got in, congrats!) so if I get accepted off the list that will probably be my first choice. Is Baylor one of yours?
Katieliz456, thanks for letting us know about Baylor! I was starting to wonder about them... I really don't know a ton about the program, but I did my undergrad there (out-of-field) and loved it.
