  1. ETH Zurich is far better for CS than NCSU. Smaller companies in the US may not care about where you got your PhD, but larger and more established companies (especially ones that are multi-national) usually like better reputation schools. Going to an internationally acclaimed school like ETH Zurich will definitely get you noticed, and if you like both professors then I would lean towards ETH Zurich. Even besides industry prospects, the quality and rigor of an education at ETH Zurich would help you get a job as a professor someday if you decided you wanted to go that route. Good luck
  2. I'm afraid I have to agree that the field of EE you plan to do research in is of great importance. The reputation that each school has in the eyes of a particular employer is based on how they perform in whichever field of EE the employer is doing business, and not on various ranking lists. I know of some universities that are not that highly ranked but have a very high reputation in a certain field of EE. A further piece of advice is that since all these schools have approximately the same level of reputation, what you should base your decision on is what school has the type of research you want to be involved in. I have heard this advice from countless people, and have taken it myself. Having said that, international experience and education is a good door-opener.
  3. I was accepted at GT for CS, and I was able to meet a lot of the faculty in March. I don't know about Cambridge, but at Georgia Tech you seem to have a very close relationship with your advisor and the professors in general, despite it being a large department. If that's something that matters to you I would go to Georgia Tech. Both schools seem to have very good reputations, and I know that GT's work on AI and Machine Learning is quite strong. Good luck
  4. It's April now, has anyone heard anything? I know I may have to prepare myself for a slew of April Fool's comments
