  1. I'm currently in the Waterloo MPH program. And I WISHED I had people to talk to about the program before entering. I really like it so far! What's nice is that the program starts with a 2 week "on campus" experience (they pay for you to stay in Waterloo if you'd like). And you get to meet all of your classmates and participate in a bunch of group activities to get adjusted to the program. It's great because now I know my classmates. So when we work in an online setting - it's much more comfortable. I believe Lakehead is COMPLETELY online. That's what really made me choose Waterloo. Similarly, at the end of the program, we end with a "capstone" course, where we get to stay on campus again for 2 weeks to work with our classmates on a final project and celebrate together. I'm really liking the courses so far. Just biostats was very difficult - but we get a lot of support from classmates and the profs. I skype regularly with classmates and we also have Whatsapp groups to keep us in contact. It's been great so far. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!
  2. Hi, I applied to OT this year and got accepted at McMaster Uni. But, I decided to turn it down because I wanted to do MPH. However, OT is a great program option. There are tones of jobs in OT and high demand with an aging population. So it's a great choice! I had exposure to the field in a hospital placement I did. and it seems like an interesting field. Where are you applying? I know McMaster has great problem based learning strategies, but if you have time before you apply; you should definitely look into getting some exposure to OT and even talking with an OT. it'll help you make your decision as well as have something great to put on your resume:)
  3. I hate to be a downer! And I really hope you get into this program. But last year I applied to mac's global health program and I waited til August to hear anything back. I emailed them and finally got the rejection letter in August. From what I've heard a LOT of potential med students apply to this program as a back up because of the one year option. So it's a competition with a lot of really good applications. They also do rolling acceptances and basically send out the first round in mid/end may and then another round in june etc. They're super slow to send out anything (well at least last year they were). But I hope it's better for you this year and I hope you don't have to wait too long!!!
  4. I have a 3.6 cGPA and 3.7 in last two years. work experience related to Alzheimer's disease (and related dementias) as well as years of delirium prevention hospital volunteer work. accepted to MPH at Waterloo. Again, all the best to those that haven't heard back yet! Good luck everyone!
  5. Mine was updated on the 26th and so was my friend's that didn't get in. *fingers crossed* that you're on the wait list! Hope everything works out for you!
  6. She found out on march 26th also. That's why i'm saying you're probably wait listed. cause it should have already been posted if you got rejected. maybe wait till the first week of april to see if anything changes with your quest account and then call and find out. Good luck though!
  7. you're probably on the wait list. because one of my friends that applied to this program got a "declined" already. so she didn't get accepted. so the fact that a decision hasn't been made for you might not be a bad thing!
  8. And I just recieved the official offer of admission for Waterloo through email! YAY
  9. I got accepted to Waterloo's MPH. log into quest and you can see if you got accepted or not. In my account is says: Masters of Public Health, UW, Attendance: Full Time, Date: 3/26/2013, Status: Admit, Offer: View letter, and then accept or decline It also shows that they need a final university sent version of my transcript (since the other version I scanned for them like requested) But yes super excited since this is the only MPH program I applied to since the online style works well for me. I will be accepting this program! Good luck to everyone that applied.
