  1. Hey, HELP has arrived...sort of. I'm in a very similar position, accepted into SFS Asian studies and Elliott asian studies. Both seem like excellent programs... Elliott is where im leaning somewhat. Elliotts curriculum seems very developed, the sigur center for asian studies offers constant talks and forums to attend led by field experts, and their study abroad options seem excellent. Georgetown offers the same, minus study abroad options, but there language courses are credit free(doesnt use up credit for electives) I didnt apply to SIS, but maybe this helps
  2. Thanks for the response, As far as extracurriculars, what does SFS offer? I know the internships at GW seem to be plentiful, and it seemd that SFS Asian studies was just starting to reach out to their alum in gov for internships.
  3. Hi everone, I was accepted to both Asian Studies SFS at Georgetown and Asian Studies at Elliott school, GW. Both SFS and Elliott are excellent schools for foreign affairs, with SFS being the gold standard.. but their asian studies program was just created last year, and it seems somewhat less developed. The program at Elliott seems very comprehensive with a developed curriculum. Quite frankly, I'm leaning Elliott, but my question also is: Who will be more employable? Assuming that an employer knows the different characteristics of Asian Studies programs in DC, id hope they wouldn't blindly choose a Georgetown grad over Elliott. No funding from either. Any advice?
  4. Hey, I'm in a similiar situation, so far I have acceptance to Georgetown Asian Studies and Elliot Asian studies, waitlisted for the MIA at SIPA. I have pretty much decided that being in DC is an important factor for career building and networking, but as to which program I am not yet totally sure. Elliot has an excellent Asian studies curriculum, and Georgetowns is just starting out, and seems somewhat less organized. The faculty might even be more impressive at Elliot, which may go against conventional wisdom. I am leaning Elliot but will have to see.
