  1. Eh. I don't mind paying. I would like to study internet addiction disorder in China and would likely do the majority of my study in Beijing. So very hopeful.
  2. Meh should and yes it is honorable. We are finalists and I have to imagine that the remaining issues are budgetary concerns. If you look at the us.Fulbright statistics you will see there is a reduced number of applicants and a large number of scholarships to give out (50 percent chance).. considering they likely trimmed a bit already we should be in the 80 to 90 chance of acceptance but these numbers are just magical ones that don't mean anything until we find out. Oh I hope though really... such a strong probability... Maybe tomorrow? Speaking of I have to accept the nsf Grant tomorrow and I still don't know what I'll be doing at the end of the year...
  3. Congrats!
  4. I don't know about depression but I feel stuck. So stuck and I just want to know... Just update us as to status and let us know!
  5. Could you say a little more? Who emailed you? Any indication as to why? Hmm. I wonder if the formal award is dependent on the language stuff. I am hoping to hear earlier than later as well.
  6. Congratulations! And thanks for the info. It's nice to know people are sticking around after acceptance. What a great community.

  8. You do what you have to do and universities and PIs know the wonder of having someone perform a year of independent research or perform service through the Fulbright. It's an opportunity of a lifetime and as scary as it is how amazing there is something like this for us? How amazing.
  9. Same here. We are within days of when China is traditionally announced. Boo.
  10. Nothing in depth. I was asking about the CET Harbin language program and it took them awhile to get back to me. I posted an email previously that was sent to me. Rereading the letter they say they are working hard on placement and that's why the reason for the lateness. Though... historically China gets notifications around this time. "Late" but on time for them. And for me, the Fulbright provides a chance to do something in terms of research that I would not be able to do uttered. In a novel field that will budge the field in two powerful countries... Yeah. Just a thing.
  11. Good question. I was wondering the same myself. Nothing here. I got a reply back that the group working on the China apps are a bit inundated right now.

  13. In these rough times I think we all may just need to relax. This Dalek relaxation tape may be just the thing to soothe your nerves. http://www.youtube.com/embed/e59guruVL4o
  14. Nothing yet... And it's my birthday :\
  15. Dear Daisu, IIE doesn't know exactly when final selection notifications and budgets will be approved, but we're hoping to be able to send out notifications by the end of April. :| My birthday is tomorrow. I was hoping to celebrate.
  16. Ha! This made me guffaw, chuckle, AND snort. All at once. Then I cried and peed a little
  17. Boo! Rejected is Boo! I'd rather hear Accepted than go on with my naivety.
  18. Got an award. E/VG, VG/VG, E/VG "Application could be strengthened by including future plans for outreach and a bit more detailed discussion of how the research will impact the broader community." All three said this under the Broader Impacts Criterion. Someone cut and pasted part of my application in a response to me. Weird. Life Sciences - Neuroscience
  19. I won the NSF award, but I got the letter saying I'm wait listed for the NDSEG. People may say it doesn't matter, but I'm very curious to see what happens with this award. Thankfully, I'm also in the running of the Fulbright. It's been a good year this year. Cognitive, behavioral, and neural sciences, btw.
