  1. I would suggest submitting one image per piece for the majority of your works, and include a couple detail shots for your strongest pieces. Remember that the admissions committees will be looking quickly through images from many applicants, and they want to get the gist of your work first, and go into detail only secondarily, if they already like what you're doing and are interested in your application as a whole, with your statement, etc. One thing that I've noticed is now that most schools use slideroom, they let you uploade really high resolution images. So take advantage of that, get good photos, and they will zoom in if they are interested. Reserve detail shots for alternate angles and other aspects of your work that are really not legible from a single image.
  2. I have a friend who interviewed yesterday.
  3. I've applied a few times and rejected every time, but that's just how it works I think. A friend got in this year after her third time applying- so we shouldn't get discouraged... even if you didn't get the version of the letter that encourages you to apply again. Each year is a totally different admission panel, isn't it? Congrats to those of you that are accepted! I am curious about how much financial aid they actually give out, if anyone would be willing to say that would be great. I have always said I could only pay $1000 or less and wonder if they actually allow that. Another friend of mine said he could only pay $1.
  4. I'm also waitlisted at Yale (painting) and I didn't really say anything in my email, except that I want to stay on the list. I also asked where I'm at on the list- not sure if they are allowed to tell me. I have the same questions as you so if you hear anything, let me know! I didn't get any other offers so I am wondering if I should tell them (because it would be clear that I would accept the offer) or keep it to myself (in case it makes me appear less desirable as a candidate)? Good luck to you!
  5. I cannot believe this forum exists!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I applied to Bard (rejected), Hunter (rejected), and Yale (waitlisted). I was just googling around trying to find info about being on the waitlist - guess I found the right place! Congrats to those of you accepted! I don't know if I should get my hopes up about getting off the waitlist at Yale, I want in so bad. Maybe it will help my chances for next year. Honeycleaner- just knowing you aren't sure if you'll accept gives me hope! Always make the choice that is right for you, trust yourself, and you can't go wrong. I ended up transferring twice while I was in undergrad and found that my instincts were always right. Goodluck!
