  1. Not Skowhegan related but if anyone is waitlisted at VSC I am declining my spot because I gotta save all the monies for school in the fall.
  2. Just be as confident as possible; as long as your work is up to par, a BA can only work in your favor because it increases diversity. Basically echoing what was said above ^
  3. Hey everyone, I can't emphasize how important it is to VISIT VISIT VISIT every school you get into (even before applying, if possible). A brief visit can totally turn your decision upside down and prevent you from locking into a two year scenario of unhappiness.

The Income-Based Repayment (IBR) plan is definitely something to consider in making your decision (https://studentaid.ed.gov/repay-loans/understand/plans/income-driven).
  5. Accepted at Mills, waiting on funding; even if they waive tuition, it goes without saying that the cost of living in the bay is freakin ridiculous, so they'd have to offer a generous stipend or I'd have live on my little brother's couch for two years... too bad, bc I love the program! I hope everyone is treating themselves accordingly after this grueling process, regardless of outcome. I ditched work today and am going museum hopping alone! Weee!
  6. Me. I lost a lot of weight and expended lots of emotional energy on the applications process last year. This year has been much different. Make as much work as you can in the next year, try to recognize any areas of improvement in terms of portfolio presentation, and don't be afraid to reach out to to the programs you're interested in about whether you're a good fit or not.
  7. In most situations, transferring (which I wouldn't even refer to as transferring, since there's no official process to do so) graduate programs isn't looked upon too favorably. That being said -- don't settle, and apply to school 2-3 times if necessary until a situation "feels right".
  8. Anyone going stir crazy at their mind numbing job? School is several months away, but I feel like I have adult senioritis or something.
  9. Interviews were a couple of weeks ago and informal acceptances sent out a few days ago
  10. Yeah, I know someone who was waitlisted last week.
  11. Yep! Accepted into the film/video program, visiting during the first week of April. Congrats!
  12. I think Post-Bacs are cool if you have a huge trust fund, but otherwise I'm inclined to agree with you. I have a friend who did the SAIC Post-Bac and ended up forgoing a lot of studio time because they were simultaneously working crazy hours in order to pay for it.
