  1. Hi there & congrats on your acceptance!! I applied for OGS but they didn't say anything about it in my package....It says on the OGS application site that we will find out via email by June. Hope this helps!
  2. ahh, good luck! Hopefully you hear by tomorrow - The uncertainty is the hardest part! I also got into Laurier and it got to the point where I had accepted that that is where I'd be going - it is a great option, but I understand hoping for U of T...it was a relief because my husband is a student in Toronto, so this just makes everything easier for the both of us! Hope it is good news that you hear tomorrow...either way, you will end up a a social worker and doing what you are passionate about, so you are in a great position
  3. Hi jenste...I was accepted and it still says "Under Review"
  4. ka86 - Wilfred Laurier University in Kitchener offers a 2-year MSW degree! Building experience is key - I have been out of school for almost 2 years now just working and volunteering. Plus, you never know what can happen with the waitlist, so stay hopeful and good luck
  5. Thanks guys!! It is such a relief....it came in a large brown envelope There is a folder inside with the letter and all other required info. I live in the area so I figure that is why it came so quickly! Wishing you the best of luck!
  6. Hi everyone, If you live in the Toronto area, I would check your mail! I received an admissions package from U of T this morning! Good luck!!!
  7. Hi everyone, I've been following this forum for a while now... and am finally joining in. I have been accepted to the 2-year MSW program at Laurier. U of T's MSW program is my first choice...the wait has been tough!! I have a few questions regarding Laurier's program - Thumper86, you may be able to help... 1. Can we switch streams upon entry? When I applied I said I was interested in the integrated IFG focus-CCPO stream, but I know that I want to focus solely on the IFG stream 2. I am interested in direct one-on-one clinical work with individuals/families with addiction/mental health issues... Is it difficult to get such a specialized placement? Laurier's areas of specialization seem broad compared to U of T's streams... 3. Is the driving/car agreement strict? (I'm in the midst of getting my license- and most likely will not have access to a car) ...I am grateful that I have been accepted, but the U of T wait has been so nerve-wracking. The deadlines to respond to the other schools are a few days away and I've just been hoping that U of T would just DO something already. I think it's silly that the schools don't work together! Anyways, any info re: Laurier's program would be much appreciated. Good luck to those who are still waiting!
