Does anyone have any insight into Florida International University counseling masters programs?

Thanks to everyone! I'm still very confused... The three schools are good schools, not Harvard or anything but pretty good. I think that I should go and visit and make a decision based on that and money... Keep the comments coming!!!

So, I got into three masters programs in mental health counseling, I'm an international student. The three programs are in different cities and would be moving, the cities are Boston, New York and Miami, my husband also got in to three masters programs in another area in the three cities. The school in Miami is very small and doesn't have the best reputation but it's closer to my family, and I think cheaper to live in. The two schools in Boston and New York are great schools but very expensive (can't apply for financial aid since we are international students). We have the money, but I'm not sure if we should spend it on this or on growing our family Anyway, any insight on living in New York vs Boston vs Miami? Is it hard to find affordable apartments? Does it matter what school you go to to get hired later on? Thanks!!!

Hey! I applied and got accepted to Carlos Albizu University in Miami for their Mental Health Counseling Program and I was just wonderring if anyone has any insight into the school/program... Thanks!

Just curious, are all schools done sending invites for interviews?

I know! I think I've gone through every link on their website and I can't find the info anywhere! All it says is that for the PsyD the average score is 1150 I believe... But that's it

Yeah I wish they gave more info! I just want to be sure if I should just rule them out

Hey! I'm interviewing on the 24th in nova southeastern university for the clinical psych psyd program. Any advice is greatly appreciated! This will be my first interview ever so I have no clue as to what to wear, what to take with me, etcetera...

Same here, trying to figure out what to do in case I don't get accepted anywhere. There are a lot of masters programs and I can't seem to figure out if they are good or bad schools (I don't care about ranking but I don't want to study another two years at a school that won't get me anywhere). It's really overwhelming!

Hey everyone! I posted about MA in the wrong thread so here goes again. I applied to a few PsyD's for haven't heard anything yet so I'm trying to figure out what my options are. Depending on where my husband gets accepted we'll be either moving to Miami or New York, so I'm looking into MA's there but would like some opinions on which schools I should apply. So far, I like Yeshiva's Mental Health Counseling program and the Teachers College Counseling program (I think that's what it's called) I think that there are a few schools that still accept applications so any input would be greatly appreciated! I think I already asked but ha anyone heard anything from Yeshiva PsyD in clinical psych? Is it officially too late and I should start considering other options?

Hello everyone! I haven't started my SOP yet either, still trying to decide if I should retake the GRE but probably not going to... I have a quick question, I'm applying to a few PsyD's, should I email faculty or people there? I'm really not sure what to say if I were to write them, they are not research based programs so I'm not sure... anyway, any help would be great.... good luck!

Thank you for your input... I'm an international student so I'm still learning how all of this works... I have one more question, does anyone know a good template for resumes? Anybody else applying to Yeshiva PsyD???? Or GWU??? Nova??? Any advice/comments on those schools? Thanks and good luck to everyone taking the psych GRE on saturday!!!
