  1. Hi All, I took an online "Consumer Chemistry" course completely online from Bemidji State University. June 3-Aug 2. A bit expensive, but very suitable for someone without Chemistry background. I worked completely independently, so I didn't have to coordinate any group work or live meetings with my busy work schedule. The course met my physical science requirement. Good luck.
  2. I think they like you to have your observation hours completed prior school starting because they should be done before first clinical placement. With my program clinical placement starts right away. I found that the ASHA web site also helps you to search for ASHA certified SLP's in your area and it also states where they work. Good luck!
  3. I am just starting the grad program in September, 2013, so the new changes will affect me. I am under the same impression as the poster above. The school is the ultimate decider, but they use the rules that are in effect based on when you are graduating. They have more flexibility as long as you are graduating prior to changes going into effect Sept, 2014. "Your university is the ultimate decider on the physical science course. So if it is accepted by your school/program director for the physical science requirement for ASHA, then it will be accepted by ASHA." Sheree A. 4. Congratulations everyone on your acceptances! This has been such a stressful process. I am excited about finally starting the SLP program in the fall, but I got caught in the ASHA changes and am now looking for a summer on-line/independant study physical science. My University will not accept the Astronomy. I have been researching schools trying to find a course that does not require a science background, and have not had too much luck. My school will accept a couse without a lab as long as it is listed as PHYS or CHEM. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
  5. I am required to take a physical science course online/independant study over the summer. My University will no longer be accepting my Astronomy course due to the new ASHA changes effective 2014. I do not have a background in physics or chemistry, and was hoping that someone might be aware of a pass/fail course that is designed for non-science students. Any help would be much appreciated.
  6. I would be very Interested in a one credit chemistry seminar, but this sounds like it is on campus? Would you mind sharing if this is available online? Thanks
  7. I am looking for an online phys or chem course, I too took astronomy and will need to take another. Could you tell me which school offers the online pass/fail intro course. I have no background in physics or chemistry and I'm a little worried. Thanks
