  1. I want to apply for MFA in Drecting. But I feel my experience just isn't up to par. I have some acting credits in small, local theatre. I have 6 Directing credits, and 2 Assistant Directing credits... again, in small, local theatre. A couple other credits including Dramatruge and produced Playwright. And I have the beginnings of a good Stage Management resume (about 15 credits in all). I applied to a LORT internship last year, and was immediately rejected. I applied to that same internship again this year, and was immediately rejected again. I seriously felt that I (at least) earned an interview this year. So I don't know what was lacking on my resume. I've looked at a couple resumes of people that are currently in MFA programs, and my experience doesn't even come close to what I've seen. So I guess what I'm trying to determine is, should I focus my energy on MFA applications? Or should I focus that energy in doing actual work? The dilemma is, I am 40 years old. At my age, I really feel it is one or the other right now. Graduating from a MFA at 50 just doesn't seem practical. However, I eventually want to teach. And a MFA (or comparable experience) is required for that.
