I have applied to UoT for MASc in Materials Science and Engineering. I am an international applicant from India. I know that I meet the eligibility criteria for the program, however, I am apprehensive about what my chances would be of making it through. My profile in brief: Applied for: Materials Science and engineering UG: B.E.(Hons.) Chemical Engineering with thesis University: BITS-Pilani TOEFL: 114/120 GPA: 8.29/10 (cumulative) and major GPA: 9/10( last sem thesis) 2 semester projects in Materials Science Thesis on 1-dimensional nanostructures Summer Internship at TATA Steel, Jamshedpur, India Relevant Courses studied : Structure and Properties of Matter, Introduction to Nanotechnology, Thermodynamics, Solid-State Physics, Kinetics, Quantum Mechanics. But I want to know, what does my profile look like, good enough to make it through? Is it wise to consider it a safe option?

Has anyone heard from UoT of late? Especially, from the Materials Science department. Is it true, that MASc applicants, international or domestic have to go through some sort of interview with a professor for getting accepted. Actually, I did contact a professor, whom I want to work with but I haven't been contacted yet for any sort of interview. Also, the thing being that I am shifting from Chemical Engineering to Materials Science is what is worrying me a lot regarding acceptance. I have significant 1.5 years of research experience during UG in Materials, a GPA of 8.29/10 (I belong to India) and a couple of conferences to my credit. Being an international student, I have a TOEFL score of 114. I have been told that I should expect to get a decision by this Monday. However, I am kinda worried thinking of my chances of making it through. Can anyone comment. Thanks

Can someone throw some light on the admission scene to the MASc Materials Science program at University of Toronto?
