  1. Hi Everyone! Due to some personal reasons, am looking to pursue my masters in distant mode and been searching for information about that. I hope you people don't mind answering some basic questions that I have. About myself, I have a 95% in my undergrads and been working for the last 3 years. Will be taking GRE and TOEFL shortly. Sorry if some of my questions are silly. I personally have a lot of reservations about distance education, so could not get on board readily, when it's my turn! 1. So which school's online program is the best? The following schools online education system for MS in CS looked impressive: a. USC b. UIUC c. CMU d. PSU e. Georgia Tech Can you pls advise? 2. All schools say that an MS earned through distant mode is equivalent to a regular one. But is it really so? Do companies value the two equally? 3. Do the schools provide support for placements as well? Would really appreciate your thoughts on the above. Thanks a lot in advance! Regards Chella
  2. Hello Everyone!! Want to know about the worth of doing an Online MS Degree in Computer Science. After searching for a while I found that there are very few schools that provide an MS Comp Sc degree online. They are: 1.University of Southern California 2.Univ of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) 3.Pennsylvania State University (through World Campus program). I gave my gre some months back with the intention of going abroad. But since then a lot of things changed and now am in a situation where I cannot go (due to family problems and stuff). But I really want to do my MS now and don't want to postpone or wait hoping for things to change. Hence looking into online degrees. Please help me find answers to the following questions: 1. Is an online MS degree in Computer Science worth it? Is the degree equivalent in value to a regular one? 2. Apart from the ones mentioned above are there any other online programs (for Comp Sc) from any other schools? 3. And are there 100% online programs? Because I saw that some programs require that the remote learning student attend at least one semester on campus, to be eligible to get the degree. I sincerely appreciate any advice/suggestions on these questions. Also request you to provide any other useful links/info on online degrees. Thanks everyone in advance! Chella.
  3. Hi All ! I have been working as a Software Engineer for the past 3 years and decided to give GRE just a month ago. Am totally new to anything "Grad" as I was in a dilemma for a really long period of time, about leaving my job and pursing MS. I'm writing my GRE next month and interested in applying for Spring 2014. I would like to pursue my MS in CS and after some research found that most of the schools in US offer Fall admissions only! Could anyone please suggest schools that do offer Spring admissions for computer science? I cannot afford to waste another year and really hope to quit my job asap! (before I tend to change my mind again!!) Thanks in advance ! Chella
