Anyone else apply for this? When do they usually announce awardees?
-
I I was not award a fellowship and I have not received a rejection notice. I'm hoping they will reissue some unaccepted fellowships, but I'm not holding out out much hope anymore. JUST enough to check this thread occasionally, LOL. Waiting for the first announcement was taxing enough! Thanks for the Info Blue Gopher!

Many people may decline awards due to graduation or etc... Those of us who haven't heard anything should not give up just yet, I don't think. Hang tight a little longer.
-
no email here either I assume they all get sent out at once?
-
I like the way you think Heat_her_bee. Yes. awesome phone calls for all of us. Tomorrow. Dangit.
-
Well..... It could have happened today..... LOL
-
Eeeep I hope you're right. I wouldn't complain too much about that, though now I feel a bit queasy.....
-
Oh no, no debate! Sorry if I came across as confrontational, twas not my intention. Based on the tone of some other comments, I just wanted to express that I don't feel that bc of all this budget non-sense that the EPA really owes us anything (as some have directed their frustrations toward the EPA). That is all. Of course it would be nice if they did some kind of honorable mention deal and I think it was cool that you sent that idea to Brandon. That would be wonderful, I hope they do!
-
Well, from another perspective, its not the EPA's fault that any of that happened. The sequester occured and they lost the funding without knowing if they would ever get it back. Personally I'm extremely greatful that instead of starting from scratch they chose to consider our applications and went through the trouble that that entails. I am still in the running, but even if I had been booted from the pool due to ineligability, I would feel the same way. Based on the EPA's current needs, its entirely possible I would have been picked then and maybe I won't now. That could be true for anyone that applied. How do you take that into consideration? Things happened that were beyond thier control and they are trying to make up for it. If they decide to do honorable mentions, great! if not, fine. Such is life. Onto the next one.

I don't think they will do that, as It would require them to go through the final selection process twice, which they have not done yet. I feel like they gave us the survey to expedite the selection process, by removing those who are no longer eligable to begin with. However, getting this round is an accomplishment in itself, so maybe they should recognize the very few that make it that far.

I know right!!!! This will be the death of me, I swear, LOL
-
Yeah I just got that email too. Saw an email from Brandon in my inbox and felt my heart stop, lol. At least we will know soon!!! Hopefully the next phone call/email I get doesn't kill me
-
Did someone say we would hear back by May 1st?
-
Agreed 100%! If they cancel the fellowship completely I'm going to be pretty cranky about it, LOL.
-
Has anyone heard anything recently from Brandon? I think it would be super nice of them to give us a timeline. So I don't jump at every phone call from every unrecognizable phone number that I get () *sigh*
-
well that's good news! At least they are going to do something. Hopefully soonish rather than months from now.
-
I believe that if you are an awardee they call you and send you an email I think. This is kind of torture. I hope its over soon with good news for all of us!

I got my poll to submit. I started completely over and selected the 2nd blank. It wouldn't work until I started over. If anyone is still having issue with it, I recommend starting over as well.
-
I did as well. Still won't work. I'l try again today I guess. "Doctoral" = you have been accepted into a doctoral program. "continuing doctoral" = you have completed 1 or more years as a doctoral student. I have completed 2 years and am into my third, so I selected "continuing +2". I think that is correct. Not that it matters, I have yet to successfully submit my poll.
-
This did not work for me
-
I was wondering the same thing. My program allows for 7 years max, though I doubt many people would choose to stay in a program for longer than they had too.
-
My project has changed a bit, but it still falls into my dissertation topic. I don't think it will kill the chances of an award. I think its pretty common for projects to change a bit after a while, especially as you gain experience. I could be wrong, thats just my opinion on it.

Stumbled upon this today: http://www.scgcorp.com/fellowship/ I am an F3 and I still have not heard anything yet.
