Ok Guys. I have been admitted to the 9-month master program at CMU with the famous 12500 "Service Assistantship". It means that, in case of accepting this offer, I have to pay around 50000 for the first year! Boy that is expensive!! And after finishing the master there will be no guarantee for being accepted to PhD (although personally I like to take the challenge!). CMU is one of the best but ....! I don't know! Let's see about other universities.

Hey guys. Some PhD results are back for Carnegie. Anyone knows if they are in structural?

Caltech is crazy competitive! I wanted to apply for them. POI told me that they tend to just admit their own master student for PhD. And I think they have the lowest acceptance rate! Around 7 percent or so. Don't worry over it too much. Hopefully you will get in UIUC and Purdue.

In my case, I wait to see the first results in results page and then I will go on and ask about the application status. There is still time. The results of the rest will come back soon.

Hey Guys. I have been rejected from Vanderbilt University. There was no mail or website update. I just called the person in charge and asked. However, no hard feeling for this one. I just applied to take advantage of the "no admission fee" policy! it seems that the joke is on me!! Also, I got a mail from Tufts University declaring that "Your official admission decision will be available online shortly." Don't know what exactly "shortly" means! Any ideas?

Tell me about it! It really was expensive! However, when you are applying for phd from outside US, you need to take the risks into account!

Actually I wanted to apply for UofT and Alberta in Canada. However after applying for 14 universities, I did not have enough energy to go for 3 more, needless to mention that getting recommendation from professors was a pain in the end! . So, just out of curiosity, where are you from?

Hey Guys. I have had my first acceptance today from Rice University. However the offer is without funding due to "the state of national economy". So basically it means rejection!

Hey Mobid. There is still nothing to worry about. It seems that the universities decided to reply back later this year. The number of universities which replied until now are a lot less than the similar time last year.

Are you talking about the service asisstantship or RA? I know a person who got accepted into CMU but with a service asisstantship not an RA.

Ok guys. I have received my second rejection and this time from UC Berkeley. Still waiting for the first acceptance!

Hey shngergis. I agree with you. Although there are some universities which announced their results (including Syracuse and Texas at San Antonio), but there are several major universities who hasn't. However, let's not jinx it!! This is the second week of March, Let's buckle up and see what happens in this week.

Two weeks ago, I was a nervous status-checker. Now,I am going beyond worried! I am getting bored of this waiting! What are they doing?!

I think they start with masters first. Just take a look at the results page. There are several masters already announced.This is not the case for Phds.

Hey Everyone I received a mail from UC Davis Stating: "Thank you for your interest in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of California, Davis. The Graduate Admissions Committee is currently reviewing applications at this time. We expect to have admissions decisions by April 15, 2014." It seems that they are waiting until the last minute!

Not yet. I think it is still early for Tufts to give back the results. Around mid or late march, I think, will be the time for them to reply back. The interesting thing is that there is a good chance for us to be colleagues . Anyway, good luck on your applications.

I got my first rejection today from University of Michigan. It would be nice if my first result was an acceptance. Anyway .... Let's hope for the best!

Hey Msaln, Really great stats. More importantly the results of your undergrad and master work in Sharif. I know how difficult it is as I was in UT for undergrad. By the way, just out of curiosity, do you apply for Prof. Moaveni in Tufts? Hope you all the best.
